For anyone that missed it, I did a deep dive on "The Vale of Lost Women" on my blog Deep Cuts in a Lovecraftian Vein. The usual focus of the blog is looking at lesser-known stories in and around the Cthulhu Mythos that are written by or about women, People of Color, and LGBTQ+ folks, so this very much a close look at how Howard depicts and uses race, gender, and sexuality in the story, as well as how the story was received. Runs a bit long, but I figure a few folks here might appreciate it.

Thanks Bobbyderie.
I think I'll print that one out later.

I like this story alot actually. The cosmic moth-bat that shows up is a cool monster.

Good to take a look at this one from a different focus point. The ending bears similarities to the Black Stone, among the most HPL-ish of Howard tales, so delving into the Lovecraftian aspects is worth investigating.
