Interesting article by Jones, a professor at U of Colorado Boulder and author of the acclaimed horror novel The Only Good Indians. www.texasmonthly.com/arts-entertainment/my-life-withconan-the-barbarian/#commentsI'm pleased with his unabashed love for Conan and his appreciation of REH. But, like so many, he seems to discern and interpret Howard's character rather more clearly and definitively than he should. And, like so many, he looks at Howard's literary creations as if they were a kind of Mirror of Thuzun Thune, and sees therein primarily a reflection of himself.

Great article, thanks for the link! Interesting article by Jones, a professor at U of Colorado Boulder and author of the acclaimed horror novel The Only Good Indians. But, like so many, he seems to discern and interpret Howard's character rather more clearly and definitively than he should. Agreed. Those are some really interesting insights from the author of this article but personally I'm going to try to stay out of Howard's head. It reminds me in a way of L. Sprague De Camp, who I also truly love as an author, but whose analyses of Howard are a bit of a bridge too far at times. But the author of this article, it seems to me, approaches REH with more respect than De Camp did. Thanks again!

I was going to read the article a bit later, but I started reading and it just sucked me right in, kept my eyes glued to the screen all the way to the end. Very nice read.
