I love maps of fantastic lands and worlds. To me, Tim Kirk is at the top of that heap. His maps just look right. Clear, but with an archaic touch. Tim is also, IMO, an excellent artist. Not so much when it comes to dynamic action a la Frazetta, but in the rendering of various people, places and things. Once again, they just tend to look right. Kirk first got published in the legendary Amra magazine back in 1970. He then did a very successful Tolkien calendar along with Tigers of the Sea from DMG: howardworks.com/tigersg.htm Tim went on to do illos and maps for REH-related projects for Bantam. Like this: howardworks.com/stars.htmHere's a tribute to Kirk's "REH stuff" from Fletcher Vredenberg: swordssorcery.blogspot.com/2014/03/tim-kirk-reh-stuff.htmlKirk's rendition of Smaug: ...and here's a map from Wagner's Road of Kings.
