Reading "Marchers of Valhalla" and got to thinking about Ishtar in the story, is she the longest actively living humanoid character in Howard's mythos? I'm not counting Kathulos from Skull-Face because he spent most of his eons underwater in a sarcophagus I guess Akivasha could be older especially if she is still around. Bit off topic but of interest: Ishtar asks Hialmar to cut her head from her body to end her torment, could be the only way to kill her is decapitation?

She was probably entombed for centuries until Steve Brill foolishly released her in the 1920s

Could work well incorporating the setup from REH's unfinished fragment where some guys are excavating the Stygian tomb in modern Egypt: Just as they as starting to open the tomb Ishtar shows up with some followers and puts stop to it. Undeterred by the display of sabers and dire warnings, Steve Brill (he was working as mercenary by this time) sneaks back that night shovel in hand and digs out Akivasha.

Akivasha unleashes a reign of blood-drenched terror in Egypt, while Brill beats a hasty retreat back to the US, avoiding any consequences for his actions.

Just for fun imagine a sort of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen/Suicide Squad composed of REH characters: Ishtar (leader of course since she still has followers in modern times) Akivasha Esau Cairn (somehow transported back to Earth) Kathulos De Montour (werewolf from Wolfshead)

I notice Steve Brill didn't make the cut for your team. *edit: Suppose Esau Cairn returns to report his adventures to his chronicler, REH, only to find Howard has taken his own life. Cairn then settles for Otis Adelbert Kline.
