Figures like this used to cost between 25 and 30 dollars in the 2000s. For example, ten years ago I bought this Conan from the Legendary Comic Book Heroes edition by Toybiz for $25,
but now they are producing these kind of action figures for 100$ and more. Even when inflation is taken into account, the difference in price between such figures then and now is large.
On the Ebay you can still find those old, perfectly preserved Toybiz figures, as well as those made by MCFarlane, at decent and reasonable prices.
The only logical explanation is that ten and twenty years ago these figures were made and intended for children to play with them, but now kids are not interested in Conan (they are fans of manga and superheroes), so these manufacturers make and sell these figures to old Conan fans who are now 40+, adults and working people who have money to pay for them to stand on their shelves with their favorite comics. I mean, what parent in the old days would give 70-100 dollars to buy a figure like this for his kid who will break it or lose it in a month.
What particularly annoys me is that the manufacturers of new figures justify the high price by accessories: extra head, different hands, different weapons and clothes...
I'm not a kid anymore, I don't need a figure to play with and to change its boots and gloves, but a figure that will stand on my shelf.
I'm hoping for a Conan figure at a reasonable and affordable price, but unfortunately I doubt we'll get one anytime soon. These are collector's figures and the only chance for some cheap ones, "for everyone" to appear is for Conan to be in the center of media attention again and world popular, which is possible only through a successful TV series or a movie.

I've the McFarlane Conan on the throne flanked by Belit & Zenobia in front of my signed Conan comics on top of one of my bookcases. It just adds a little difference from just the books.

It's my fault that I didn't manage to get it at the time when it was possible to find it at reasonable price.
I didn't want to buy Zenobia figure even though it was cheap and easy to find because I never liked her pose.
I remember a salesman at a comic book/action figure fair trying to convince me to buy it from him: - I know you're a Conan fan and I'm offering it to you at a good price. Why don't you want to buy it? - Because she is in that slave pose. - So what? Zenobia was indeed a slave. It is accurate depiction. - Well, it is, but I regret looking at her like this on my shelf. As for McFarlan Belit, that figure is really ugly but not because of the pose but because of the appearance of Belit.
I guess McFarlan had no right to use Marvel’s/Buscema's Belit so the sculptor created his own, completely different. I don’t know, maybe Bob Howard would have liked a Belit like that better, but for me, the one and only is Belit by Big John which is perfectly featured on this Hard Hero statue.

By Crom, Erlik & Tengri. One day I'll pick up these figures based on the artwork of BIG John Buscema

It was a limited edition of 500 copies. Conan and Belit are hard to find and very expensive; Zula's figure can be found for 200$

Super7 is releasing some figures that are a little more cheaper but the USA is a little high for my personal economy, but most likely I will be getting one or two in the upcoming years.

Now available to pre-order.
I was really hoping this would be not-so good so I did not have to buy it, but dammit if they did not get it oh so right! Looks wonderful.
A lot of people are saying these are not worth it or are too expensive. You get extras and the items have a lot of detail put into them. A lot of greatly detailed paint apps and weathering on items. And a slew of extras, in terms of clothing items, weapons, extra hands and heads.
I do not play with my toys. I switch accessories, clothes and weapons out to mix things up a bit. It is like having a much more dynamic, yet much more affordable, statue. Some statues these days are several hundred dollars. And for what you pay for a 6" action figures these days, I really do not think $100 is that much for what you get. The 6" figures in stores come with little accessories these days. If a figure has more than just a couple accessories these days, they are considered "Deluxe" and cost $40 or more and still have nowhere near the detail, quality and amount of accessories that Mezco has! I do not think Hasbro could even come close to putting out what Mezco does at the prices they do.
We do not get much in the way of merchandise for Conan and am glad to support what I can. That said, I have only purchased one of the Super7 figures (the CtB Marvel #1). They are far too silly/cartoony for me. For whatever reason, they based designs on what appears to the style of vintage He-Man and I just do not care for them. In a way, I am glad I do not like/want them as Super7 has saved me a lot of money! If you do want them, however, you may not want to wait too long to get them — some of them go for a decent amount in the aftermarket. Just like the first two Mezco releases — they both sell for nothing less than $200, which both initially sold for $100.
You can also pre-order King Conan at BigBadToyStore.com. The down payment is only $10 (as opposed to Mezco's $25) and you can guarantee collector-grade packaging for just a bit more ($5) — if you are a MIB/keep in box collector. It is well worth the extra money. They handpick the nicest boxes/packaging and ship it extra secure.
