Thanks for the notification Terry. Looks like it borrows a major plot point from 1981's Dragonslayer.

Thanks for the notification Terry. Looks like it borrows a major plot point from 1981's Dragonslayer. If a Gandalf/Dumbledore type shows up somewhere in there, it'll be the WHOLE plot!

Looks like it borrows a major plot point from 1981's Dragonslayer. Exactly. The crew from NETFLIX watched that movie and realized that it has great potential, but only if some key changes are made : - the princess will not be saved by a male/knight, but she will become a warrior who will save herself.
She will not kill the dragon but will protect it as an endangered species and at the end of the movie she will marry her black maid.
But who knows, she might still marry a male. This one, for example, who will play the role of a knight.
I wouldn't bet on the prince. He is too white and not man enough for our heroine.
The prince is likely to be romantically involved with the blacksmith:

Yeah, I too am definitely getting the typical modern remake vibe with this one. It's almost like they constantly use the same computer ai to come up wit this stuff. Which given the guidelines they are expected to follow they essentially do I guess.

Looks like Milly Bobby Brown might be battling Red Sonja as a sword swinging fantasy heroine. She definitely looks more like Sonja than Matilda.

For some reason I am reminded of Shrek Forever After, the animated film where Rumpel changes times and Princess Fiona was never rescued by Shrek at the tower, but had to save herself and went on to become some kickass warrior leading a ragtag group of ogres. Reminds me, when is the next shrek going to come out for viewing. Would rather watch that then the boring bullshit disguised as sword and sorcery films they are sometimes making these days.

They should make a D&D LARP type series with the kids from Stranger Things are thrown into the fantasy world they play in, where they have been transformed into their player characters lol
