The Duellist is actually an alltime fav of mine too. When i saw i was awed by the direct, the real feel of the duel, swordfighting.
I will get back to you i have to think about specially since i have seen many movie sword fights with both the realistic ones and awesome, cool a bit over the top ones.

King Arthur (2004) Tristan (Mads Mikkelsen) vs Cedric (Stellan Skarsgard)
Not the best mechanically, but it was a great scene during the course of the film.

The fight between Macduff and Macbeth at the end of Polanski's "Macbeth" (1971). It was the first fight I ever saw that featured fast, agile moves by fully armored men. And the armor was actually effective, unlike most films where it seems to give no protection at all. Fight choreography was by William Hobbs, who went on to choreograph many another swordfight, both armored and unarmored.

William Hobbs is great. See him here as an actor (spoiler alert, if you've never seen Captain Kronos you may want to watch the whole movie before seeing this clip):

Highlander: the final sword fight vs. Kurgan Rob Roy: fight vs. Cunningham Hi, Televiper - I love Highlander, and although I recall at the time Rob Roy came out that that sword fight was touted as one of the best ever, I think the fight in Highlander tops it. But I think my all-time fave is still the great duel between Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone in the 1937 or 38 Robin Hood. No one was more dashing than Flynn or more dastardly a villain than Rathbone! Basil Rathbone used to say that in a real duel he could have killed Errol Flynn at any time:

Cheating but Luke vs Vader in return of the jedi JEDI gets a lot of stick from fans but every moment of Luke and Vader in the Death Star is classic.

Cheating but Luke vs Vader in return of the jedi
That was the late, great Bob Anderson:
Jan. 1, 2012 The world lost a key contributor to the Star Wars saga last week in sword master Bob Anderson, who coordinated the lightsaber duels of Episode IV: A New Hope, and even donned Darth Vader’s armor for the high-intensity dueling with Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The man who established how “an elegant weapon for a more civilized age” should be wielded in the Star Wars universe passed away on January 1 in West Sussex, England. He was 89. “Bob Anderson was essential in defining what a lightsaber duel would look like,” says George Lucas. “He was the Jedi Master of the original trilogy, training the actors to duel with a new kind of weapon. In Empire and Jedi, Bob donned Darth Vader’s cape and helmet to battle Luke Skywalker in all of the amazing lightsaber battles. It was pure movie magic that Bob became Vader.”
