Those black and white pages are just incredible. No words to describe the beauty of it all. They are among the best things I have ever seen in a Conan magazine. Black and white is where the damn thing is. Nothing can capture the beauty os an artist's pencil so faithfully but full pages of uncolored work. I am amazed.

Came out today. This is the issue for those that want more Conan in SSOC, because it's ALL Conan, 3 stories & 3 pin-ups.
Other REH characters will return next issue, with a Dark Agnes back in #6. Also, Pat Zircher is working on a SOLOMON KANE miniseries color comic, & is writing stories of other REH characters for other artists that'll likely be in upcoming SSOC issues.

Yes, Rob is best in black and white, no doubt about that; I think we've commented on that before after seeing his first Conan drawings a couple of years ago.

As I have said before, I wish Rob De La Torre was assigned as full time artist for SSOC. I'm grateful and excited that SSOC is back, the but IMO the new run with different creative teams feels more like the later issues of the original run, where things sorta lost focus......

I thought it the weakest so far , not impressed with either of the main stories , felt I'd read stories so similar a number of times. Isherwood's art was at least worth looking at , the other wasn't . Not a great recommendation that Jim's 2 pager was the highlight.

I honestly kinda liked the first story. reminds me of the kinda stories I read when I first started picking up King Conan. I think it might be one of the best Conan related work Jason Aaron has done.

Yeah, I found this issue disappointing in comparison to recent issues. 1st of all there seems to be a problem with the quality of the printing concerning the art, the pin-ups were too dark, very much like the 1st issue. For some inexplicable reason, Aaron has to mention Prince Conn again, the De Camp and recent Marvel days are over. The art saved the main yarn, wanna see more of that next issue. The 2 page story by Torre again was fantastic, unfortunately, again the quality of the printing was smudgy looking in the copy I picked up, I checked out the other copies at the store they were all the same. Hopefully, the collected editions will be an improvement, printing wise at least.
