If this is true -- if they are indeed now considering a TV-show, like the article you linked speculates in its conclusion -- then it could be that they took both the Andrea Berloff screenplay and the Will Beall screenplay that we discussed here in another thread, and are now rewriting them in order to lower the budget, and also, in order to extend them a bit, so that they could produce, say, at least 6 or maybe even 8 or 10 TV episodes. A possibility, though I wouldn't bet on it... (as in: I doubt that something will come out of this, although I'd be happy if I am proven wrong about this).

One may only gues... Argh! To hell with this!!! I say, they should make a movie out of this scripts, or they should do nothing. C'mon!!! If they are interested in small King Conan tv show a la Got, they should goe to the source, Crom curse their souls! Simple, get a talented writer, use KEW's Day of the Lion sinopsis for a background story, then adapt all 3 King Conan REH stories into episodes, like Dark Horse comics did, and in the end make some quality final story ans get it over with. If they so desperatly want Arnold in the role DO A FRICKING MOVIE, give a fans this "untold story" and make space for somebody new who could bring REH's Conan to big/small screen! What in Croms name happend to creativity in Hollywood? Instead of brain they have a whire in their heads to hold the ears not to drop of?

Conan movie not dead yet? Meanwhile, the actor is still promising a return to the franchises that made his name — “The Terminator” and “Conan.” The latter is a particular surprise, given that screenwriter Chris Morgan revealed this spring that the developing “The Legend Of Conan” is dead. The project was supposed to be an “Unforgiven“-style sequel, but who knows, maybe a new concept is being worked out. “In March next year, I am shooting ‘Terminator 6,’ James Cameron and David Ellison are back on board and then comes a ‘Conan,’ ” Schwarzenegger said.

Does it realy matter? I mean, I wish that somebody do some new Conan movie or movies but, they'll never get this thing right. Arnie, if you read this, the clock is ticking. You are not in 30 something enymore. Time will not go backward... It goes straight forward for all of us. Keep that in mind, comrade.

Personally, if Arnold never appears in another movie about Conan, I'm okay with that. Not that I put any sort of elitist blame him for ruining any shot at a viable, accurate depiction of the character (that's Milius' fault). Schwarzenegger was hungry and the movies broke him into an amazing life and career.
It's just that... sometimes he speaks as if he's responsible for creating the public consciousness of Conan. Maybe he was. I'd really like to separate that fiction from truth so I'd rather he stop being connected to the character, even though I know that's never going to happen.

Arnold made the new Terminator movie recently so that means he's still in shape (and regarding those things that require something extra or dangerous, there's CGI). But in spite of my sincerest hopes I think this is just speculation under which there is a lot of wishful thinking and not much else.

[/quote] Same as me, mate. It could be just another teaser, like few we had in last few years. But, there's the other side of medal, and that one says 'who knows'... Terminator franchise coming to its last chapter, same as Stalone did with Rocky and now with Rambo: Last Blood. Maybe Arnie truly wants to do one last charge with sword in his hands... All in all, everything is posible. With revised script and good, dark, epic story it could be done.

You can say one thing for Arnold, he's a great opportunist. He sees Conan possibly becoming popular again and has put it out there that he wants to be part of it.
As fun as it would be for Arnold to take a swing at Conan again, I doubt very much it will happen.

After the past couple of years when we've had writers and producers attached to projects, even if it actually began shooting, I wouldn't believe it until it showed up on a screen somewhere (movie or TV, doesn't matter at this point).
