Jeffrey Jones didn't intend this as a Belit portrait, but it actually looks more the way REH truly described her than most...

Hun, thank you for these pictures and quotes for the Queen of the Black Coast portfolio. Out of curiosity, your pictures start at plate 2 and don't include plate 1. At other sites I have found that there are 7 pages and you have thankfully included the quotations that go with each of the 6 you posted. Could you confirm if the first plate had a quotation as well, and if yes let us know what the quote is. That would be appreciated. Thank you again. Plate 1 '...his back against the mast, he heaped mangled corpses at his feet...' I really don't know how I forget that one. I probably had some bad fermented mare's milk at the time Anyway, I've added the 1st plate and the quote to the relevant post. (and above) Thanks drmc.

Bruce Patterson and Dick Giordano, from SSOC 29. This is a great thread. Always liked it when they dressed up Belit like this in SSOC. Yeah, that's what they should do for a movie, Conan on the high seas with Belit. That would work I think.

Does anyone know the name of the Jeffrey Jones piece? I think it is Nakari, Queen of Negari (Moon of Skulls) one of the paintings from the Solomon Kane collection Red Shadows published by Donald M. Grant in 1978. Link at Howardworks: www.howardworks.com/redshad.htm

I don't know the artist behind this one, find it online, like how Belit has this wild buccaneer look about her with the hair, kind of like a Hyborean Age Anne Bonny.
