I think fermented mare's milk would nauseate me given the lingering effects of chemotherapy on my system. In fact I think I wouldn't have liked it even at thirty, when I stayed up till five a.m. skulling raw cheap claret with companions and singing old drinking songs. Wine like Red Cahal, yes. A whole other matter. And "Sowers of the Thunder" is a superb yarn. There is no way successfully to dispute that. I reckon it is almost up there with "Shadow of the Vulture."

Yeah, love this yarn. I think I've mentioned this before, but it almost feels like REH wanted Baybars and Red to be friends in this yarn.

Great vid, great channel. This link comes courtesy of DMR Books blog Links of Steel. Thanks Von K. Great review of the Shadow of the Vulture and probably the best REH volume you can get, love the yarns and the art by Krenkal.

My version is only the Ace paperback but am nevertheless grateful to have it. Krenkel's illos really capture the mood and significantly complement REH's prose.

I’ve got the Krenkel as well, it’s a bit fragile so I need to take care of it.
