Finished up Dr. Strange this weekend. If you wanted to see Sam do another Evil Dead film, this may be as close as you’re going to get. The main issue I had was Wanda had a Khalesi problem: her change from how she was at the end of Wandavison to here happened too fast. But the one mitigating factor-in a number of ways, it may not be OUR Wanda. Also been watching Ms.Marvel-a high school show to be sure but a nice change of pace. Her parents may seem stereotypical, but I know parents of my son’s classmates just like it so it’s closer to reality than people may think. Parts of Dr. Strange I liked, and parts were a mess, for sure. I like Sam Raimi but this one didn't hook me like his other stuff has. I still cannot decide if the "music duel" was cool or just weird. Little of both, it didn't land quite right i guess. I still always laugh at the over-the-top cheese of the Bruce Campbell cameos, though. Ms. Marvel is cool. Nice to have a marvel show I can watch with my youngest. We're in the midwest so it's been interesting, getting questions from my kids about foot washing in the mosque, etc. Kinda cool; stuff I only learned recently myself is part of pop culture in a way it never was when I was a kid in the '80s.

The mosque scenes have been some of the best parts. Nice to see that side of it, kind of like how we were as altar boys getting ready for mass.
Dr Strange was certainly choppy. I think it was partially a fallout from its having to be reworked both from Derrickson to Raimi and the COVID delay. Didn’t quite stick the landing but it was enjoyable enough.

Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder | Official Trailer I would like to see Viking lore and myth come to the big screen, something epic, but not this travesty. So people pay money to watch this.

Ragnarok was the lost sequel to Flash Gordon that never happened. This is following from that. Any resemblance between this and actual Viking lore is purely coincidental. :-) I actually got my copy of Ragnarok for free, after the Disney/Fox merger, there were a bunch of DVDs laying around the office and that was one of them. Solo was another.

I loved the movie, but I too was surprised that Wanda would suddenly go to such an extreme after the end of WandaVision. I think ultimately, though, she was corrupted by the magic of the Darkhold. The further she delved into the dark powers, the more her mind became twisted. Now that it's gone, she'll hopefully revert back to her old self...but not without some emotional trauma. Ms. Marvel is a lot of fun, actually. It's quite different from the other shows, sure, but I don't think that's a bad thing at all.

My son can back me up on this, I called the Ms. Marvel post credit sequence back in episode 1 based solely on how she gets her powers on the show as compared to the comics.
Edit-there's also a little musical stinger that's been getting a lot of play over the past couple of months. Pretty X-citing...

SPOILERS: I had a strong feeling that Carol Danvers would show up for the post credit sequence, but didn't know it would be in such a manner. You guessed that they would essentially swap places, though? Also, do you think that since Kamala has a mutation that we might be seeing the X-Men (or some X Group) and other mutants finally?

Yep, remember the bracelet in the early CM era pre-Starlin with Rick Jones. It'll be interesting to see if Namor does show up in BP2 (and if Attuma is there, you know who's not far behind), if they'll stick with him being a mutant (the wings on the feet). Lost track if that retcon was retconned away again.

Would be cool to see Namor show up in that movie. I've been wondering for awhile if Marvel Studios would ever introduce him.

I'm assuming it was between Sony and Marvel Studios?

Yep , IIRC that's also why Hulk can be in the MCU but not have a solo film at present. Interesting. I'm guessing they somehow acquired the rights with the intention of making a film, but didn't get very far. Assuming the sneak-peek images of Namor for the upcoming BP2 movie are legit, his general appearance is the same, with the exception of more clothing.
