Haven't had the chance to watch Thor yet but I wanna do it sometime this month. I hear they used several Guns N'Roses songs, Including November Rain which is my favorite. I've heard mixed reviews so far but I'm holding out hope it'll be good.

Some analysis from Andre over at Midnight's Edge:
‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ underperformance has Disney and Marvel worried!

You can’t put these things too close together. People just started watching Dr. Strange on Disney+. If you do three movies in a year, you need to have at least three months space. They did the same thing last year: Shang Chi did well, Eternals lagged. Give us a chance to miss them.
They’re also making movies doing different things, they’re not all going to be mass hits. They’re going to have to learn to accept ‘moderate successes’.

There’s also NO chance Black Panther 2 gets anywhere near the original. Is it going to be up to Ant Man to save the day next year?

Is it me or did the actor who plays Thor's face change? Something with the jaw?

I looked online and they have a bunch of shots from Dark World right next to Love and Thunder, they're almost the same.

The move to streaming content has the MCU becoming a bit of a content mill for Disney, which makes sense for the streaming network, but the theatrical dynamics are different. Sometime I think they've lost sense of what to do with an idea or material at their disposal - whether to pitch it as a film in the theatre or tv series for streaming. An example is one you mentioned a few pages back in this thread, about how the Eternals would have been better as a TV show - too much material and too many characters for a single movie. Another is (imho) the recent Obi Wan series, which seemed like a 2 hr movie idea padded into a 6 episode series.

I'm watching the dude who's crowdfunding that Ripperverse thing on Glenn Beck and he's getting WAY more $ than he ever thought he would. Which brings up another point for Marvel et al to consider: stop p***ing off your audience. There are certain aspects of some of these latest films that aren't really all that important to the main plot but they want to play it up and point it out. I go back to my Hart of Dixie example, just do it and keep focus on the story instead of making THAT the story. They got Spider Man right, it can be done. This is the open question with Lord of the Rings too.
And they wonder why "Occupy Avengers" didn't last...

Yep, agreed.
There was an article on the new Obi Wan series published in Forbes recently which was a little on the critical side of the series, made a couple of points paralleling your own. Midnight's Edge thought that Forbes breaking ranks to criticise Disney suggested a sea change behind the scenes.
Plus the recent Spidey was a pleasant surprise, and it made sense to reset his life to being closer to his classic 'street level' origins. His starry eyed hobnobbing with Stark, nano-tech suits and the Avengers was a fun excursion but didn't really fit his character imho. You'd remember how in the original Stan Lee comics he used to take the mickey outta them fellas - like calling Mr Fantastic 'egghead' and calling Thor 'goldilocks,' Iron Man 'shellhead.' All of that was really Stan Lee taking the mickey out of his own characters, but he did it first through Spidey afaik.

Gotta give it to the MCU gang. I don't know how you watch Orphan Black and go "....yeah, that's our She Hulk." But they did and based on the first episode, she nailed it. CGI is improved from the trailers. If they can just present a bunch of enjoyable half hours, I'll be fine.

The new Thor is going to be on Disney on Sept 8th already. Crazy. That’s the same time between release and D+ they did for Dr. Strange, so it may be the norm unless they figure out the very short window may be part of what’s eating into the box office. I remember when Star Trek II showed up on HBO in April 1983 which was ‘early’ since the movie came out in June the year before. Times have changed.
