When I saw the thread title, I thought, "He wasn't that old." Turns out my recollection was correct. Tragic to go when he still had years ahead of him. I've always been a bit ambivalent about Watkiss. Some of his art really connected with me and some did not. Nevertheless, I raise a glass to his shade.  |

I enjoyed his artwork in the Swordwoman and other Historical Adventures from Del Rey. RIP
