I'm behind on getting episodes up for Swords against Wizardry and the Swords of Lankhmar, but I'm currently listening to Swords and Ice Magic.
There is a cool scene where the Mouser and his crew arrive at Rime Isle. He has a crew member lower a bucket into the water to do a taste test.
Something like this happened on the first episode of BBC's The Last Kingdom, which is based on Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles. Where the protagonist's future adopted grandfather has a bucket of river water sampled, tastes it, and comments on how sweet it is.
I'm assuming this was a popular method used by seafaring folk?

I just read the Seven Black Priests...it was really good! Solid Sword and sorcery yarn Yeah I thoroughly enjoyed that one. Had a fun ending. I'm nearly done with "Rime Isle," but really enjoying it. I didn't expect the tie-in to Norse Mythology and the parallels Leiber is making between his duo and Odin and Loki. "Rime Isle" is a bit long, but this is one I don't mind having a bit of length to it, unlike THE SWORDS OF LANKHMAR, which I thought really dragged in parts.

Just completed SWORDS AND ICE MAGIC, overall a really solid collection. This was a far better listen than THE SWORDS OF LANKHMAR IMO. Regarding "Rime Isle," now I know what made Roy Thomas give his Fafhrd analogue in the Conan comics a missing hand, didn't expect Fafhrd to lose his hand! I was a bit disappointed, though that my Audible download of SWORDS AND ICE MAGIC was advertised with an audio introduction by Neil Gaiman, but it wasn't included. I would have liked to have heard his take on this one. Oh well, off to THE KNIGHT & THE KNAVE OF SWORDS, the final book in the series.

Cool map, Deuce. Never looked for a Lankhmar map before, but that looks am awful lot like the map I filled out roughly in my head while listening to these audio books.
Speaking of, I'm halfway through the last one and Leiber seems to be going out strong with the Knight and Knave of Swords.

Thanks Deuce! Waited a long time to read this. Tried to track it down a few times in the past with no luck. Some great insights there as to the origin of the Twain and their world of Nehwon.

I always sort of wished Conan had a pal like the Mouser that he could hang out with.
