The first actor to join the cast for Alper Çağlar's upcoming Gokturk Trilogy is Robert Maaser!!! Check out the video below, he looks strong and agile enough to be Conan. İlk Göktürk (First Gokturk) Description: The first casting I'll announce for The First Gokturk is German actor Robert Maaser. Having already proven his acting mettle in world class projects, he is also physically capable of accomplishing the difficult supporting role he'll be given. I won't answer the question "Why's a blonde European in a Central Asian war epic?"; I must have a reason. He's a sincere bro with a Turkish wife, fill up those follower numbers
Potential concept art for the character portrayed by Robert Maaser. Totally see where you're coming from Hun. That was awesome. You don't see many actors willing to train to this full on athletic level of commitment for action roles. I notice boxing playing a big role in his training. Imho he might make a great Von Kalmbach as well. He's also one of the very few actors who would be capable of portraying David Gemmell's Skillgannon - a dual wielding warrior/general who was trained as an acrobat and dancer before he became a swordsman: Yeah, I can see him as Von Kalmbach. Tuğba Sunguroğlu will also be in the movie - I could see her as good ol' Red Sonya of Rogatino. Concept art for the yet unnamed character for the 1st Gokturk Robert Maaser & Tuğba Sunguroğlu look a little too European to portray characters set in 6th century Mongolia. I Dunno it could work out. I'm finally gonna read David Gemmell's Legend soon.

Hope you enjoy Legend Hun and maybe give the follow up King Beyond the Gate a shot too. It features Tenaka Khan, who is half Nadir and half Drenai, and the novel features an ironic counterpoint to Legend in a way that I can't reveal without dropping spoilers.

I'm probably gonna read the comic book adaptation before the book.

Did Chinggis Khan Have Red Hair? Thanks for the vid Hun, an interesting snippet. That Legend graphic novel looks fantastic. Someone somewhere has surely got to illustrate some of his Waylander and Shannow yarns one of these days.

Here's an intro to Hikmet Yamansavaşçılar's historical (fantasy?) comic Karabala. ..some art from Karabala by Hikmet Yamansavaşçılar: Obvious John Buscema influence for this one:

I've somewhat neglected this thread recently. Here's couple of songs by Hu of Mongolia:
The HU - This Is Mongol (Ene Mongol bilee)
THE HU - Black Thunder Part 1 (Har ayanga)

I love this stuff by the Siberian group Otyken. OTYKEN - LEGEND OTYKEN - KYKAKACHA ME TOO! I haven't listened to it yet. *edit* Interesting. A bit too hip hop influenced for my tastes, but interesting. The girls are not difficult to look at.
