Serviceable. The Conan stories were so-so, one of them had the unfortunate distinction of being an "unknowing" rip-off of Lair of the Ice Worm. Some of the other originals with other characters were interesting. For the recolored reprints of B&W stories, some were well done, but several were too heavy on the browns. They started an adaptation of Gods of Bal-Sagoth in #11 that remains unfinished since #12 never came out and never will. I picked them up to support any opportunity to get other Howard material out there. Would I tell somebody to go back and pick them up? Not sure. If you check some bargain bins, I wouldn't be surprised if some of these ended up in the half off section. They also did two trades of the original material from #1-8, though it doesn't look like they'll do one for what's left.

Good color adaptation of Kull's Demon in a Silvered Glass in #10 indeed, Gods of B-S part 1 is also in #10 but played in Viking time... Jb

GoBS really does need a place to be finished, hopefully DH can find someplace to run it. Then again, when they're not really running Conan, doesn't seem like that will happen.

I enjoyed most of the non-Conan stories...was sad to see this disappear silently.
Maybe they'll put part 2 of GoBS into a DHP issue...kind of like they did with the Swamp Demon Conan tale (I suspect). But given its a part 2...we probably have little hope. Best bet is the trade for the final bottom will include part 2 and other stories that were thrown in the drawer.

I haven't read this magazine yet. Is it interesting enough?

I enjoyed it. There's a cool Brule story involving an undersea kingdom serialized in it.

It had some good moments, it was good to get a wider sampling of REH material. It's only, what 10 or 11 issues, and at this point might be in some bargain bins.

I wonder how many stories were drawered...The Swamp Creature story starring Conan in DHP might be a candidate but there were surely a few others.
I'd like to see Marvel relaunch this or an anthology title in the same vein focusing on REH's other creations.

Howard's Savage Sword as an issue 0 with the upcoming mini series. Not for $4.99, something like $1. They gotta create interest for the lesser known characters otherwise they're just wasting everyone's time, including their own, like they've done with the Age of Conan books.

Hmm, now if Marvel works out rights to even more REH, could they print something like the 2nd part of Gods of Bal Sagoth or anything else DH had in the drawer for use? Or would that require even more legal untangling since it was never printed?

Be interesting to see how close the two stories turn out , they sound quite similar from what I've read so far.
