Glénat Conan Graphic Novels (Adaptations)

Picked up La Reine de la côte noire (Queen of the Black Coast) and  Le Colosse noir (Black Colossus) last week. 

I'm not overly impressed with the art of Pierre Alary in the Queen of the Black Coast adaptation. Unfortunately, there's also fair bit cut out from the adaptation like the death of N’Gora and there's no epic fight with the hyenas in this adaptation. Overall this volume's a little disappointing - I guess we're kinda accustomed to bad adaptations of QotBC with the recent Brian Wood run. Fortunately, there's always the classic Thomas/Buscema adaptation or Petri Hiltunen's rendition.

I enjoyed the Black Colossus adaptation and feel it really deserves a translation. 

Both volumes have essays by Patrice Louinet and Conan galleries.

One of the guys on my Yahoo Group has advised that "I have the information that the books will appear in Brazil during this year, by the same publisher that publishes the Elric comics. The same will happen with the Italian King Conan." So if any of you are there keep an eye out.

German editions of the first three albums can now be pre-ordered on amazon.de.

Apparently the first two will be relsed in december, Vol. 3 in february.
