Redo DH Kull

So I decided to try a redo of Kull for the DH series. I didn't necessarily MIND the changes (Igraine could have been worse and Kull for the most part is still a stoic badass) but I can get why Howardians didn't like them. So I'm going to try to flesh things out in a way that does it's own thing while still honoring Howard.
First off I'd do a prototype series to see if people were interested. This would be a six part miniseries, each with longer pages (maybe 30 or 40)
Issue 1: would be Exile of Atlantis up to Kull mutinying against the Lemurians. I MAY actually have some elements of the Hate Witch storyline because while it was odd I didn't hate it (the idea of Kull returning to his old home and feeling tempted to leave Valusia's bullshit behind is an interesting one, and the Hate Witch herself allows some arc welding with the main Conan story in that she ultimately becomes the recurring villain the bone woman).
Issue 2: Kull spends time as a highwayman, but gets captured by a patrol and is thrown in the arena. Kull adapts to his situation and his skill catches the eye of Councillor Tu and Borna's daughter (not named Igraine). Kull ultimately wins his freedom, but decides to join the military. Tu and NotIgraine approach Kull, having explained that they took interest in him. Ultimately Kull becomes friends with them; NotIgraine confides that while her father was once a (relatively) good man he became more paranoid and brutal after a trusted friend tried to assassinate him (in attempt which claimed her mother's life).
Issue 3: Two years have passed; thanks to his own skill and the fact that Tu and Igraine were willing to back him up Kull has been appointed commander of the Black Legion. (Kull's certainly skilled but Valusia is so damned nepotistic that actual COMMAND positions are denied to those who are not of noble birth; they basically pull strings to ensure that Kull is given the position he deserves). At the same time Borna becomes rather intimated by Kull's popularity, so he decides to try and send Kull to assassinate Rotah, hoping that Kull will die in the attempt. Unfortunately this backfires when Kull kills Rotah.
Issue 4: At the celebration banquet Kull is drugged and thrown into a prison on trumped up charges. NotIgraine helps him escape from prison, but sadly Borna figures out her role and has her executed. At this point the nobles (who are already tired of Borna) decide to cut the bastard loose and kill him. Kull gains the support of the military and he launches an attack on the capital.
Issue 5: Basically a big badass battle sequence in which Kull and the military storm the city. The people themselves aid the revolt (Borna's daughter was much loved by the poor) and in the final battle Kull kills Borna before taking the crown at Tu's urging (Tu realizes that Kull has the potential to be a truly good king unlike the other vipers). In the shadows the serpent men observe this, and decide that Kull may need to be dealt with.
There; two tales knocked out in a test drive
If that goes well we get the main series
Issues 1-4: Shadow Kingdom; Kull takes out the serpent men, but the serpent men VERY quickly do damage control.
Issues 5-6: Kull starts trying to crack down on the serpent men, and we get a lot of cloak and dagger shit. At this point Thulsa Doom gets called in to deal with things (an interesting angle is that the serpent men HATE having to call Thulsa in, since he's a man and they see themselves above humans. As such being forced to take orders from a human is rather insulting. If he weren't Set's champion they'd do the opposite.)
Issues 7-10: Declardes's cat; adaptation. Kull meets Thulsa in the end and they fight before Doom cuts his losses (he isn't in the mood to fight too many people and Kull proves surprisingly dangerous). One thing I WOULD keep from the original is the attempt to fight the serpent men (who are now on the run).
Okay that's all for now
