Lovecraft, REH, Clark Ashton Smith, Leiber, Bloch, Ramsey Campbell, Clive Barker, Stephen King, Neil Gaiman...all fans of Machen. Howard considered Machen's The Novel of the Black Seal to be one of the top three horror masterworks ever written. A good article on Machen's cultural influence here:

You can throw Tolkien in as a fan. Or at least as one who drew some inspiration from him.

I was captivated by Machen before I knew who Machen was. I had read “The Coming of the Terror” in a collection of stories and it just stuck with me afterwards as a fantastic tale and a great piece of writing. It was only later that I "discovered" Machen and when I began to research him it dawned upon me that I'd already encountered him.
