Well, Conan sales are as steady as they can possibly be. The mid 16k zone.

Cimmerian goes up and down but has been fairly close to the Marvel series overall.

"The Cimmerian" sales are dropping while Marvel are going up. I would imagine the drop for the Cimmerian woud be folks buying multiple #1's. Both CtB and SA dropped from last month. CtB is now the 3rd lowest selling Marvel title.

It'll be interesting to see how the King Conan mini-series does.
Maybe that is the way they should go if Marvel get orders around 50,000 for the 1st issue to about 20,000 by issue 6? I think I'm being a little optimistic with those numbers, anyways I hope things improve next year.

I think that may be too optimistic, 30k settling back down to 16k is more likely. But we'll see.

I think the thrill of wanting to see new Conan Marvel material is gone at this point so the issue 1 may sell less than 50k. I still think King Conan has the potential to be a great title but unfortunately, the sales may or may not reflect that, similarly to how Jim Zub's run had great writing and art but only the people that stuck around after the first arc got to experience it so it wasn't reflected in the sales.

If that's the case where will Marvel go from there? Will it even be worth them relaunching CtB at all with it being one of the lowest selling titles. Even Savage Avengers , with rumours of changes/cancellation , is now the 6th lowest. Marvel put out 60+ titles last month ,is it really worth their while bothering at all especially as they pay a licence fee which must make it even less cost effective for them.

Do they pay a fee for every single issue? I thought they just bought the rights and can publish now. If they wouldn't pay the fee anymore, could someone else start publishing Conan?

Don't know what the agreement is these days. I remember Roy saying back in the old days they paid $X per issue. I'd _guess_ they'd have paid a fee for publishing the characters. If Cabinet used their head it would have made sense to also pay per issue , as Marvel have published a number of titles featuring different characters. But I guess only Malmberg would know and I doubt he'd tell if we asked him LOL!

I keep thinking the same thing, is it worth Marvel relaunching the book if we're looking at such low numbers? I know they are doing a great job restoring and collecting the old Conan comics in the omnibus format. Nevertheless, they have reduced the page count in recent solicitations and the price has gone up to $150!! Omnibus sales could change very quickly next year.

Did you know how bad was "Dark Agnes" selling?, Marvel cancel it after 2 issues and to be hones I found it pretty interesting.
