The girls face. I can't tell you what's wrong with it but the way the girls face is drawn sums up whatever it is that's off-putting about this style. It's typical of whatever the modern style is, kind of kewpie doll-ish. It's very good for what it is so I'll go with that for now. |

Like a page from a 1970's Tolkien calendar gone berserk.
You got your blazing sunbeams through storm clouds, massive crackling bolts of lightning, a freakin' erupting volcano, and a shirtless Conan standing astride a slain, tongue-dangling pterodactyl like some Hyborian Age big game hunter.
Puts the 'bomb' in bombastic.

The Mahmud Asrar is definitely better, Conan in a frenzied life and death struggle, the blood spattered arena littered with the fallen, blood thirsty spectators edging the fight on, that should be the Conan cover.
