ALL-NEW CONAN GAMES COMING TO THE TABLETOP!
Shinobi 7, LLC. is delighted to announce the license acquisition of Robert E. Howard’s “CONAN” for tabletop games. The first game will be a big box miniature game that will launch on Kickstarter and will be available in retail; the second game will be a direct-to-retail card game.
The miniature game, slated to launch on Kickstarter in the first half of 2019, will feature highly-detailed sculpts of not only Conan, but other well-known characters from his world as well. A retail version of the game is scheduled for an early 2020 release. The card game will be available in retail channels in 2019, and will allow players to take control of their favorite Conan characters and confront other players in a quest for glory. Further details about components, pricing, and release date will be forthcoming.
"As a lifetime fan of Conan, I am honored to take part in the ongoing legacy of Robert E. Howard’s phenomenal body of work,” says Jason DeAngelis, publisher of Shinobi 7. "Our team of game industry veterans is developing a line of games that’s sure to delight and surprise fans of Conan and Robert E. Howard.”
"I am very pleased with Shinobi 7 and the CONAN Game Team that Jason has assembled,” says Frederik Malmberg, President and CEO of Cabinet Entertainment. "They are very knowledgeable and respectful of all the characters that Robert E. Howard has created, as well as having a deep commitment to make high quality games."

Interesting. The Monolith boardgame did great on Kickstarter, although I've barely seen it at retail. I wonder how much appetite there is for another miniatures based game, the CROM one has failed to be funded twice now I think.

Interesting. The Monolith boardgame did great on Kickstarter, although I've barely seen it at retail. I wonder how much appetite there is for another miniatures based game, the CROM one has failed to be funded twice now I think. I backed the King Pledge for the Monolith Miniatures Conan game and if the sculpts are good for this new one I will back it 100%. For me that is the key, the sculpt of the miniature has to be top notch. Detailed and accurate. There needs to be a plethora of Conan sculpts including in the game (Monolith did a pretty good job of this but they messed up the scale on a couple of the extra Conan sculpts which soured me a bit). Ideally there would be one sculpt for every stage of Conan's career: Barbarian, Thief, Adventurer, Mercenary, Reaver, Slayer, Pirate, Chieftan, Scout, General, King and maybe one of him carousing or whoring it up something like that.

Today we are very proud to announce an all-new chapter in the never-ending adventures of Robert E. Howard’s legendary Cimmerian: Conan: Savage Legends! Conan: Savage Legends is a strategic, turn-based, skirmish style miniatures board game. Set within the vast mythos of the Conan universe and drawing inspiration from MOBA and combat game genres, Conan: Savage Legends allows players to construct unique and powerful combinations of barbaric warbands. Choose from a vast array of Legendary characters, special items, and deadly tactics, before filling out the rest of your warband with battle-hardened companions and a minion group. Through gritted teeth and barbaric rage, warbands clash against each other on a variety of exotic battlefields. Choose your actions wisely or risk falling to the blade of your opponent. Which route is best to crush your enemies and see them driven before you? Will you take up the mantle of Crom’s chosen barbarian or do you prefer a more subtle, yet sinister approach in your machinations of conquest? In addition to the head-to-head clash, Conan: Savage Legends will also feature a number of thematic solo/cooperative campaigns that pay homage to the great works of Robert E. Howard. Conan: Savage Legends will be heading to Kickstarter later this year. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter and get all the latest Conan: Savage Legends news! Looks like it could be fun. Including solo and co-op play is a great idea and should widen it's appeal. The Conan model's design looks to be based on the cover of Conan the Barbarian volume 2 #1 from 1997. It's not bad but I would have preferred something either more iconic or something original.
I do wonder how much appetite there will be for this though, after the last board game and the upcoming one from Room 17. I also wonder if Cabinet made Shinobi 7 aware that they would be licensing Conan to another boardgame company around the same time as their Kickstarter.

I really wish that this interpretation of Aquilonia as ancient Roman rather that medieval Western European wasn't so prevalent in these games. Card game looks interesting though.

The kickstarter for this game is now live:
I do like the look of some of the miniatures but not sure about the game itself. Some videos of play would be good to see.

There is a gameplay video on the Kickstarter campaign page.
Under the "Gameplay" section, there is an image of the S7 logo. Click on it to watch part of a two player game.
Why they almost hid it, I have no idea.

Looks like the Kickstarter has been cancelled by S7 with about 2 weeks to go since it was obvious it was going to fail.
Its probably for the best, the game really didn't seem very interesting when compared with the game that came out a few years ago from Monolith. They are saying they will relaunch but unless they make some serious changes I don't know if they will ever attain their goal.

If I could snap my fingers, they'd just sell the minis...
