I don't know why people keep responding to anything Maher says. He's a professional troll.

If that is what Maher said, then the guy is an absolute sh*t-stain. I'm sure it's de rigeur these days to be snidey on social media and be as "outrageous" you can to maintain your "profile" but is there really any need for this kind of wank?

I guess he's like most of the population that have been introduced to Marvel through the Marvel Cinematic Universe - some love it, and others like Bill Meyer don't.
Still very disrespectful.

Still very disrespectful. Exactly. My issue isn't with his view on comic books - I don't give a flying @#$% what he thinks about them, because his opinion on them essentially means nothing. It's totally asinine. My problem is his complete disrespect for a creative genius who's inspired so many people for well over half a century. To brush aside decades of the man's work with inane comments like this is out-of-line. I sometimes agree with what Maher has to say, but in this case he's just being a total jackass.

Stan the Man has passed away. He always seemed like a good bloke. As a kid reading the marvel stuff, I always associated Stan Lee with Marvel, Stan Lee was Marvel, his name kept popping up all over the place, and I learned what an important editor and publisher he was, it was kind of cool later on having him make all those appearances in the Marvel movies. Nuff Said.

S&S/Warhammer author, William King, has this tribute:
"Lastly, I'd like to mention the passing of Stan Lee. This was a man who greatly influenced my own development as a writer and I would go as far as to say my views on morality. I first encountered his work in the old British black and white reprints of early Marvel comics in the late 1960s and I've carried fond memories of them with me ever since. A moment of silence please, one of the giants has passed."

he was good at comedy too, some of the stuff in Howling Commandos was hilarious...Spidey had lots of funny lines too...I feel certain that was all Lee there
Maher is a complete idiot...the dude is pathetic really...I bet he is one of the most miserable human beings on the planet...he had no appreciation for anything, what a small world he lives in
