I had never read the cycle about Conan and the Desert Code, although I had heard about it and knew that it was a remake of the author from another fantasy. The first story from the cycle did not surprise anyone. The author’s language, as always, is not bad, but the plot is poorly glued. The explicit connection of the plot with the “Golden Dwarves” through the goddesses does not have the proper response from Conan, which looks strange. The characters' characters are described fragmentarily and clearly not enough ... IMHO, the alteration was not very successful.
On the other hand - a completely readable story at once ...

I didn’t expect such a small thing to be so cute. Absolutely enchanted, absolutely! What language, dear mom! How well written!
It’s not immediately clear which of the heroes is the main one, either a revolutionary who does not shy from becoming a slave owner, or a girl who never eats, but knows how to dance on broken glass, or a rebel - a tattered man, bought by an incomprehensible whim. And no assumptions about the plot are not justified. But no one kills anyone but greed. Although here, as they say, the gods themselves are powerless to fight.

Thanks to the fate that prepared me such a generous gift. I mean the story, the beginning of which I just read. There have been many wonderful books and wonderful stories in my life, but this new one is one of them. I don’t feel the details, I don’t notice errors - everything happens so naturally that I wait only for one thing - to continue.
And places and people completely alien to me; an incomprehensible and unsuitable way of life for me - but the stubborn Isangard and the grouchy Koda have already become their own - as the cunning Khoja Nasreddin, from the book of Solovyov, once became a favorite.
Who did not read - read. Who read - remember. The intricate magic of skillfully selected words will fill you with new strength and awaken hope for the best.

I join the good reviews of fellow laboratory assistants. The story, however, is very strange and abstract. In that society that is described, there cannot be revolutionaries and such dense atheists, especially since in gods, evil spirits, etc., it is not necessary to “believe” like ours. They just eat like water, earth and the sun. it is written very pleasantly, I recommend.

An interesting story, besides a wonderful written one. It’s very atmospheric, and the characters are very naturally written out. The entourage is created simply masterfully. Wow! : super:

Once again I am convinced that reading the books of Elena Khaetskaya is a pleasure. The plot is usually interesting, but it is not the main thing. The manner of presentation, the description of landscapes and heroes, the very language of her books I really like. I recommend reading to everyone.
