Invisible threads
Novel, 2007
Average rating:
6.36
Votes:

Annotation:
Indeed, Wendia is a country of intrigue and secrets. And Conan was convinced of this in his own skin, he is more and more immersed in the squabbles of the indigenous population. However, before the northerner more and more new questions arise and not a single clear answer.
Now Conan is driven not only by the desire to understand the mysterious death of the former ambassador, but also personal motives. One of Conan's foremen is accused of brutal murders of Brahmins with families, after which they are executed in the main square. Conan believes that his man acted not of his own free will, but was bewitched. And, of course, the death of the former ambassador is somehow related to the Brahmin massacre. Conan will not back down until he understands this whole mess.

The second part, to be honest, is even more boring than the first ... Reading is revived a little only by this ugly leap over different time periods of the novel ... In general, it’s ridiculous to read Conan’s arguments about who the Brahmin’s killer might be, when at the beginning of the first book They told us about this in plain text ... Maybe the author made this shuffling precisely to attract the attention of the reader? Then why are dialogs (and descriptions of events) so boring and boring? The main drawback of the second part is that it breaks off in a relatively interesting place - and for 10 years the author has not published a sequel ...
So, if there is a desire to read 2 boring novels about the unknown to science Conan detective with the prospect of a cliff in an interesting place - then to the welk!
I put a three-piece to both parts ...

“Invisible threads” is an absolutely primitive boring work.
Russian-speaking authors (hiding under foreign pseudonyms) and publishers tirelessly “delighted” the inexperienced reader with streams of their inappropriate “revelations” (talking poleaxes and pitfalls, Conan’s urge to fling “Miter lightning bolts”, werewolf inserts into the Howard texts and other kingdoms).
This text is not from a similar series. But not a bit better.
Not only that, Conan (according to the "mighty" plan of the author) helps one lady to dismember (and then hide) the corpse of the dignitary Satti from some commotion, so the barbarian also reflects in every possible way.
In general, like the first part of this “wonderful” work, a detective detective: endless dialogs with a minimum of action. Moreover, the author (to see from the scarcity of his own imagination) is trying to instill in Vendia the features of real historical India (with castes, brahmanas, the goddess Kali, etc.)
Those who are interested in the image of the Howard barbarian, reading is not recommended.
