I'll confess that I've been away for far too long (just realized today that the old board was gone) but playing a session of SAVAGE WORLDS in the SOLOMON KANE universe last night got me searching around and I'm glad I found this place. Thanks for giving us a place to discuss REH until the foundation gets its site up and running!

Just wanted to say thanks for getting this running. I was sad to discover that the old board had closed, despite not having posted actively for a couple of years. Hope this one and the future REHF board continue the legacy of great posts from REH fans and scholars. Good to see ya back! Same avatar and everything. You joined the Old Forum in, what, 2006?

Why was Paradox so determined to shut it down so quick if their forum isn't even up yet? Furthermore, how did they have any right to shut it down in the first place? Was the site owned by them or something? I always thought it was privately owned. Actually, Paradox/Cabinet had always intended to hand it off to the Foundation. The Old Forum was actually in limbo for several years. A new upgrade was coming up and Cabinet apparently had other plans for that IP. The site was/is privately owned. The owners were/are Paradox/Cabinet.

Good to be back! Since the old days, I found a good Facebook Group (link in my sig) focused on Conan and Sword & Sorcery art.
But I've been checking in on these boards on & off, but the "Marvel's cancelled Conan comics - circa 1995" thread really hooked me with info & art I'd never seen, making it clear it was time to stop lurking!
And thanks for the thread recommendation. That's exactly the kind of thing I did so much of back on the old boards!

The owners were/are Paradox/Cabinet. What I meant was, I though it was a single individual (i.e., the literal Member #1) that owned the site rather than a company, but I understand now. Still can't fathom why they thought it a good idea to close down the old board, though. That vast wealth of discussion that was built up over the years is a huge loss that will be sorely missed.

Hello everyone, i am new here and just wanted to say hi. Recently discovered Robert E Howard's oeuvre starting from Conan obviously and he quickly became one of my favorite authors.Energetic prose and memorable characters makes for some awesome reading experience.
I actually discovered Conan in a strange way, I was reading the 4th or 5th Witcher book and came across a reference which felt very Conanesque.I don't remember the quote exactly but the goddess asks the hero to make a wish and he replies that he wants the sharpest sword and fastest steed and nothing else. I was intrigued by that quote, did some research surprised to find that he was a book character and immediately started reading some of the short stories from public domain.
The moment i completed Queen of the Black Coast, i went from "Hmm these stories are interesting" to "Holy Crom this is freaking awesome". Now i am a Howard fanboy. Now i am waiting for my Del Rey Solomon Kane collection.
