I might avoid this thread for the remainder of the year in case spoilers come up. It might sound strange, but in a way I dont' want to know the good or bad when it comes to the new Elric book. Trying to give myself that ol fashion fun when you first pick up a book that you have been looking forward to reading . I see where you're coming from kemp. I had to skip the middle of that review as it seemed to go into a few too many of the plot details. Gotta grab me a copy of this sooner rather than later.

Apologies. If I find other reviews I'll mention whether they contain plot details beyond what Moorcock already said on YouTube.

another review, largely positive. Like the 1st one it says the first 2 short stories are better than the - really new - novella (maybe another illustration that S&S works best as short stories than novels?) Beware they are plot info

Now THAT’S interesting. Foundation’s been a bit of a mess but can still come together. MM is usually never interested in this stuff so if he’s involved it’s pretty high level

Do us a favor, Mr. Moorcock, and don't go woke like Gaiman. Also, an Elric series will be perfectly fine on its own. No need to branch out into Eternal Champion stuff just yet.

I suppose get ONE right first, then move on. Elric and Hawkmoon are the easiest to understand, Corum's a little more difficult, then by the time you get to Erekose and all his guises, you need that foundation solidly built before your hero goes and commits genocide.

Apple Studios were in the bidding for the LotR rights but lost out to Amazon. I've neither watched nor followed any of their productions so I don't know what their track record is. It looks like they mostly co-produce stuff. Hope they get the right people involved and make some great MM adaptations. The more great fantasy and S+S material out there the better.
Like you johnnypt I hope they take their time and slowly build up to the subtler nuances of the Multiverse and the conflict between Law and Chaos. Lord knows we need more Balance in our polarised political and cultural clime right now.

Breaking News: The Michael Moorcock Library The Multiverse Vol.1 July 2023! Isn't this just a reprint of the old DC series? Big thing I saw in there was Swords of Heaven, Flowers of Hell either is or will soon be back in print. Been looking for that one for DECADES!
