There isn't really a lot to be excited about here, let's be honest.... What are the chances of this getting Batgirled? "The movie just wasn't releasable, no matter what we would have done." They didn't spend enough on it to make it a profitable tax break, they'll need to release it somewhere. Warners at least has distribution outlets set up, so they could say we can't even release it there without negative effects or whatever excuse they came up with to write it off. Avi & gang don't have that luxury.

Yes, and there is word that WB has not completely nixed the idea of releasing somewhere — even if streaming only.

Yes, and there is word that WB has not completely nixed the idea of releasing somewhere — even if streaming only. They'd lose the tax break though, so they have to weigh which will be better for the bottom line. I used to think something like this would eventually leak out, like the 90s FF film. But the way Disney has been able to keep quiet certain things (Luke's appearance in Mandalorian, characters like Clea and Hercules showing up in the MCU), I'm not sure it would if people are able to learn from how they do this aspect of their productions. You'd have to think they're going to have it pretty locked down with only certain people having access to it so if it did leak, you have a pretty small circle of people to investigate.

I also heard the Batgirl film ties in with Michael Keaton's Batman, and the new powers that be don't want to tarnish that brand with this apparent dog shit film. IMO they should have made a Cassandra Cain movie.
I was thinking... maybe this Red Sonja movie will be released via paid programming/infomercial like the Billy Zane Wheel of Time short film that was made just so the production company wouldn't lose the rights. Evidently they made it, bought some air time and played it without announcing it.
Different day and age... now I guess streaming is the better option. This Red Sonja movie doesn't look very good but there are dozens of low budget crap films littering streaming services as I type this.

Funny thing about the WoT...infomercial (I think it aired 2am on FX that one time), people now think they did a better job with the material than Amazon!

I wouldn't doubt it. There were parts that I liked of WoT Season 1, but they were few and far between. A watchable show, but nothing to write home about.

I really the original Cassandra Cain run of the Batgirl comics, but I feel that Barbara Gordon, with the red hair flowing from cowl is to iconic with the general public as Batgirl. Perhaps merging Cassie's origin with Barbara would work, where Barbara was kidnapped and trained as an assassin, breaks free and decides to fight crime.

Maybe we will all be shocked and awed with great performances and great post work to save this.
I am utterly shocked at how much crap is made! Tubi is absolutely littered with it! Bad acting, bad production and bad effects! Sure, I appreciate a good horror B movie, but holy moly, that stuff is below B.

I wouldn't bet on the acting, but maybe CGI will be the savior. Herbert Blank is CGI supervisor:
MJ boasted that she has a great director of photography, but she still hides who it is. It is also not known who will do the score. Of course, I'm not expecting a masterpiece as Basil Poledouris wrote for Conan, but Red Sonja must have some powerful and recognizable main score.

Terrible. The costume looks ugly and cheap. Almost every RS cosplayer has a better costume than the one created by professional costume designer. Compared to this, even the costumes from LARP conventions look like superb artistic creations. Ok, I understand that this is a raw photo and that these materials will look better on film but it will still have the same shape and amateurish and poor design. And why did they burden Sonja with so many pauldrons and shinguards - she looks like a Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz or like she's going to an NFL game. Our poor Sonja doesn't even have a saddle.
I don't know what instructions the costume designer got from MJ, but apparently she didn't get the basic thing - Sonja's enemies should be afraid of her and her comrades should admire her, not to laugh at her and feel sorry for her. Alison McCosh is a pretty big name (she did the costumes for Peaky Blinders), but apparently the problem is that she never did costumes for movies or series of fantasy or ancient history genre (the oldest epoch she represented was the period of the First World War). Sonja's horse doesn't look much better either - not like a war horse but like some country horse that has been borrowed from local Bulgarian peasant for the filming.
This is the one. - Leave me alone, little woman, I am old and tired to play with you.
I thought at first that a stuntwoman is in the photo (Kytková Miroslava or Dessy Slavova), because why else would the face be blurred. Then I concluded that it is Matilda in the photo, but she is probably photographed by one of the crew members on the set, not by a professional photographer, so it is possible that Matilda is smiling at the cameraman so that's why her face is blurred because such a photo would not be representative. Anyway, it is another example of a disastrous media campaign of Millennium for this movie. Instead of releasing an official promo photo which would certainly be better than this one and on which the attention of the viewers would be focused primarily on Matilda's face and her appearance, they let this amateur photo from the set leak, so now we can only dealing with how lame is the costume Matilda is wearing.
As for Matilda's body in the photo, that is also disappointing because she looks like some female MMA fighter- she's square, straight, muscular, and not at all feminine.

I mean the general idea is ok as trying to refer to the costume without doing it. The execution is a bit lacking fair to say. It really is missing…a couple of things on top. We’ve joked about it but now seeing it, it doesn’t work well. And then springing from that, the cosplay observation is spot on.
