I think there is a facebook page from some Scordisci Serbian Celtic group, the Balkans, a historical crossroads for many peoples, stomping ground for ancient tribes such as Thracians, Illyrians and Celts, amongst others. The Slavs that settled in the late classical/early middle ages made the greatest linguistic influence on the region, original homeland an area that covered central and eastern Europe, say Carpathians and the Ukraine. The Balkan name I think derives from Bulgar Turkic for mountain. Balkan people are descendants of these various peoples. The tall stature, or above European average, of so many Croatians, Serbians and Albanians probably also attests to the ancient Paleolithic populations that once roamed that part of Europe. The wanderings of the historical Cimmerians. Phrygia - close to where the Gauls settled in Galatia many centuries later:

The wanderings of the historical Cimmerians.
The Galatians, that name, probably mostly associated with a book of the Holy Bible, but that article expands on the Celtic Galatians, a people of the Scordisci Danubian branch of the Celtic peoples. The Balkan people seem to be given strongly to feuding from an early time. 'Grainger includes the history of the Scordisci also. They had a feud with the Illyrian Dardanian tribe and there was bad blood with the Dacians.' Interesting to note when you consider the rivalries between the Serbian, Albanian and Geeks peoples. I always considered the Galatians as the most easternmost extension of the Celtic tribes, although there might have been related tribes expanding in small numbers across Eurasia.

You are right in referring to them as Gauls, the Gauls that settled amongst the Greeks. The Scordisci seem to be a part of the Gallic incursions into the ancient Balkans. Scordisci warrior, National museum in Požarevac, Serbia

Scordisci warrior, National museum in Požarevac, Serbia Požarevac is about twenty miles from my place, which is called Miloševac. Back in 2020, they excavated an entire celtic settlement, with the remains of tools and weapons of the ancient Celts, only two km from my house, on land by the river Velika (Great) Morava. On the other hand, 8 km from me there was once a large Roman settlement with the remains of ramparts and wells, where there is now a catering complex where I worked a long time ago. Lozovik (right next to Miloševac) where I also have a house, partly lies on an old Roman cemetery. And Celtic swords were also found on that atre.

So it seems you are from the Scordisci region, you are definitely some sort of Slavo Celtic remnant type.

The vast majority of Serbs are. Mainly of Celto-Slavic blood. There is some Illyrian in the south of the country, too.

Drop this into the unofficial Balkan thread. The Djoker made slam 24, that equals him with Australia's Margaret Court for overall major opens, and we are not talking about his other records, for example longest at number one and most semi finals. He will be in my city of Melbourne for the Aus open next year. Now 25 is the prize, that will set him with the most major open wins, both men's and women's tennis.
