Well as Malmberg OK's everything I guess he's happy with them! I dunno, there could be some uncertainty at Marvel the way they're rushing through Conan the Barbarian omnibus editions this year with the last 4 volumes in 10 months. I agree I think when they're done , as well as presumably the Epic collections , I think Marvel will be done. Unless the Netflix show comes off and they might think it'll be worth another push. I meant with Malmberg's OK the various story-lines they come up with , I reckon he won't be too pleased how the new stuff has gone but he wouldn't say so. |

Fredrik Malmberg should give the license back to Dark Horse and let them complete the Cimmerian's adventures in chronological order. I agree. A continuation from Conan the Slayer would be nice. DH was starting to step their game up after Barbarian and Avenger. |

Marvel went way down the woke rabbit hole long ago, they are not a good fit for Conan anymore. It's gross that such a obsequious publisher is writing Conan stories.

What will that mean !?! You read a Marvel Conan story and they will retract the story or certain aspects later on after the virtue signalling howlers have ripped into it.
Not a good sign of things to come.

Any a piece of media even to the level of a Conan Comic, is subject to their screeching whims. They literally sit in wait for the next thing to feign their emotions of victimhood and profound damage - searching for it, so they can cry out the usual "problematic, bigot, -phobe" judgement to bully and force things to align to their opinion. I truly believe at this point, it has little to do with any particular "incorrectness" but more because they are enjoying the power trip aspect of watching creators bend the knee time and time again. CBR- one of the biggest comic sites on the internet stands ready with their finger on the trigger to release multiple articles within hours, complete with "trigger warning" ready to condemn. If I was Aaron I would never have demeaned myself like that, not to mention donating his money to a native American foundation as if to say 'see I respect indigenous women'. Bet the rabid left had a chuckle and got a nice kick out of that 'victory'. So this is how Marvel will be pandering to these radicals. For me, the high point of pop culture was the creative era that went though the 1960's right into the 90's, artists and writers were allowed to be creative, when the left was in its infancy regarding such things as popular culture and entertainment. They left us alone for the most part. What Aaron should have done was say that he will create and direct his characters as he sees fit, whatever creatively works at the time, some will be strong male leads, there will be females that will be warriors, leaders and at times scantily glad buxom Witches from a host of different backgrounds, some will be white, others black, and some may look like native Americans, and if someone is offended that this Witch looks like a slutty version of Europe's Boudica or another one like some Pocahontas influence so be it, tough luck, and if you like that, great. |

Interestingly, all the solicitations for the upcoming Conan the Barbarian & DH King Conan Epic collections have disappeared from the PRH comics and Diamond(previews world) websites. Only the Conan omnis and Aaron's King Conan graphic novel and Savage Avengers omnibus remain. I guess, it could be a temporary thing. I dunno if this recent tweet by Malmberg concerning an announcement about Conan comics means anything: |

That's what I am saying. It may as well be listed as a natural resource for these people. Like a bottomless well to be ever drawn from. They have succeeded time and time again so why wouldn't they lay in wait for the next thing to screech about and score yet another victory and feel that creamy sensation of social justice? I just wonder how big of a precedent this going to set for any forthcoming Conan books. Scantily clad women has always been thematically part of these books, much like Conan himself. Does this mean any new artist will refrain from drawing a side-boob? You know they will at least have to make a decision on it that was never needed before. Funny, related story. I gave a white elephant gift of pictured Conan book during a work, Christmas party a couple years ago. (White elephant gifts are supposed to be a strange item lying around your house that you don't want/need anymore, I guess). Picture a room full of healthcare ladies of various ages and me sitting there. Well, when she took the book out of the bag and looked at it the entire room erupted in joyous laughter and I was left completely confused. I thought it would make for a funny gift, but not that funny. They went bonkers over this thing. Turns out, at the mere sight of the cover had them instantaneously aroused in the forbidden context of work party. I had ZERO premeditative thoughts on this and ZERO anticipation that it would be seen that way. I just thought it would be funny for a grown woman to receive such and obviously useless gift that would be on the opposite end of their interests. I may as well have handed them 50 Shades of Grey.  |
