How is this comic 'woke' to you? No signals really.
Was mostly tongue in cheek.
Was thinking Johnny was referring to shipping Valeria and Belit . . . like people do/did with Xena and Gabriel. Although these days an out and proud lesbian drama would be the norm and no shipping necessary.
Xena and Gabriel is what immediately popped into my head when I saw the cover, actually. If there were no title on that image, I would have guessed that this was a new Xena comic. The interior artwork looks a bit more promising, though.

First issue out today. Honestly, if you wanna read it for what it is, go for it. The art is really good in my opinion. However... If, like me, you expect it to have some element of REH or classic Conan style writing You'd be heavily disappointed. The writing was HORRIBLE but giving the premise, it's what you'd expect. I didn't like the writing personally but it comes down to opinion because apparently there are people who think it was a solid first issue.

I don't think I'll bother reading the 2nd issue.
Ablaze are fortunate they are reprinting the Glenat adaptations, cos they are clueless when it comes to anything original relating to Conan and the Hyborian Age. I guess the variant covers will help sales and there probably is an audience for this kinda generic Sword & Sorcery stuff.
