One of Near Mint Condition's last videos- Omar was talking about being unsure if this was going to come out and I couldn't tell if he was talking about this first printing or any subsequent reprint, because of the Conan license.

I'd have to believe they could get one pressing out of it under the original contract. A reprinting would be another story. But, yeah it's sure taking a long time. Unfortunately these days, that's not unheard of for a variety of reasons. |

Looks like the 1st printing will be OK. Marvel sent an advanced copy to the Gem Mint Collectibles Youtube channel.

With all due respect to fans, it surprises me that Conan readers support such awful project. Blending Conan with other heroes for me turns Conan to another character that has nothing to do with Conan.

I mean, for me I have never been against the "What if..." kind of story. I was looking forward to see how Conan would interact with the likes of some of my other favorites- Wolverine and Punisher to be exact. I mean, Conan has been paired with other "heroes" in the original stories here and there. Not quite apples to apples, I know. Care to elaborate why this is such a turn off for you? |

Heroes like The Punisher and Wolverine were created to belong to our modern times. They speak and act like modern society asks them to speak. So living in today's times seems natural to them and also very natural to the reader. When you read Wolverine is driving a car (I don't read his stories, but I suppose this has happened sometimes) you don't frown to this fact because it is something that is just a part of a story and is also supposed to be there. Conan, on the other hand, was created to live in a whole different world and putting him beside The Punisher and others feels like a joke, or a prank, and it makes me laugh and think that such a story should never be taken seriously in any way. I feel like a wasted opportunity or something made just for the kids. If Spider-Man invaded the Hyborean Age I would never care to know what would happen for the same reasons. |

Been swept up in buying so much Conan with the omnibus releases, I never gave not buying this one that much thought other than being curious how they handled Conan's integration into modern times. I didn't read the single issues but I think this tips the scales for me and I would rather preserve Conan's image as it was meant to be in his original setting as much as possible.
I think you just saved me $60.
