Thanks for the news Terry. That's quite a list of authors they have there. I expected a short story collection at some point from Titan but didn't expect them to take the route of individual short story releases in ebook form. Wonder what the word count is for each yarn and what the price point will be for each. Scott's Shadow of Vengeance is in the 18k word range I believe, which would make it a novella (though the definitions can vary). Be interested to see what covers they use for so many titles. On Amazon UK they say that Conan, Lord of the Mount is 46 pages and is priced at £1.99 (same price for Conan: Black Starlight). Thanks Alexander.
I just checked John's original thread on Black Starlight where he and Scott were discussing their novellas back when they were being serialized by Marvel. They wrote 1500 words per issue for a 12 issue run so that puts John's Black Starlight at the same word count as Scott's Shadow of Vengeance, both yarns at 18k.

According to Fred Malmberg it's the entire REH library that is in scope for these short stories. So hopefully we'll have in the not-too-distant future new adventures of Dark Agnes, Black Vulmea, Cormac mc Art, Cormac Fitzgeoffrey... Rights permitting it would be great if Titan could publish the only Kull pastiche in prose I'm aware of (treason in Zagadar by Adrian Cole), which is hard to find. I'm lucky enough to have it and I really enjoyed it.

Only REH could keep a whole stable of authors writing about his characters.
Wouldn't mind seeing Keith J Taylor on the list along with William King.

100% agree. I'd add Pierre Pevel for Solomon Kane (see his Wielstadt trilogy) and Dark Agnes (see the "swords of the cardinal" series, kind of sword and sorcery version of the 3 musketeers with a female character called Agnes).

I still can't believe it. Out of the hundreds, no, thousands of images of Conan they probably OWN, they pick this cromag Conan image as the focal point of their short story e-book line?

I'd add Pierre Pevel for Solomon Kane (see his Wielstadt trilogy) and Dark Agnes (see the "swords of the cardinal" series, kind of sword and sorcery version of the 3 musketeers with a female character called Agnes). And maybe novelist Tim Willocks. I have no idea if he'd be interested in writing pastiche, probably not, but he's a Conan fan and certainly has both the mindset, historical knowledge and writing chops to come up with a very interesting perspective on Conan and the Hyborian Age imho.

As usual whether Fred Malmberg can attract those big names will depend on how successful the e-books will be. I for one will purchase the Conan story next week.

I don’t have issues with ebooks(I own three Kindles and have hundreds of ebooks) and I’ll buy a physical collection if one becomes available. I’ve been wanting something like this for years…

Black Starlight, the novella serialized in the back of the first 12 issues of Marvel's second chance at the Cimmerian, is finally available in one piece.
Wish it wasn't just an e-book, but at least people who don't have a sequential stack of Conan comics can read it now.
It's cheap enough that I don't feel too awkward hawking it here...
Amazon.com: The Heroic Legends Series - Conan: Black Starlight (Savage Tales Short Fiction Book 2) eBook : C. Hocking, John: Kindle Store
If you check it out, I'd be pleased to hear what you thought of it.

I actually made ebooks of the serialized stories a while back by running the pages through OCR software, cleaning them up in Word, then converting to epub. Glad to have an official one now

Just thought I'd drop in the direct link for this:
You may find some readers will wait until the re-release of Lotus to read the yarns in order perhaps.
I'd guess the most well received of the ebook series may be gathered and published in hardback eventually.

Hi John , as it's between the two novels to me it would make sense to fit it into the new book when it comes out , do you know if Heroic/Titan have any plans for that?

There has been talk about putting several of the e-book novellas into a printed book, but I think they're waiting to see what kind of response they get on the e-versions first.

I'd guess the most well received of the ebook series may be gathered and published in hardback eventually. Hey there Von K. I sure hope potential readers don't put off waiting for Lotus to reappear to check out Black Starlight. So many people told me they were going to wait until all 12 issues of the comic came out before reading the novella... and as far as I can tell none of them ever did. Despite its wide distribution in a Marvel comic, I got virtually zero feedback on Black Starlight. Although connected chronologically to Lotus, the novella stands alone. If pastiche intrigues you, check it out.
