Just bought myself an early Xmas present, an Xbox One and am looking forward to loading up Conan Exiles later today!

So been playing for around a week now, single player off-line on Xbox. Finding it very immersive BUT there's one big hitch. Almost every time I die I am unable to find my corpse to pick up all my gear. This is getting very frustrating as it means having to start over to build equipment each time. Any ideas or fixes?

There should be a grave marker on the map to show where it is, is that not appearing or is the body not where it's shown? Could be a glitch if the body just isn't there. If it becomes a real problem, you can change the settings in single player offline so you don't lose your stuff when you die.

So have changed the settings as suggested, cheers!

I bought this for PS4 when it first came out, but have yet to play. Have been eager to try it out, but a lot of games for PS4 require a premium Playstation Plus online membership to play. I am in a rural area without reliable internet data, so a PS+ subscription seems wasteful. You can play this offline, but I heard you have to be online to create your world and then you can play single player offline. How does this *really* work? Do you need to be online at all? Are there any PS4 players out there? Is a PS+ account needed?

I'm in a similar situation with regards to rural internet. I don't know if it's the same on PS4 but the first thing that happened when I loaded the game was I had to do a 56gig download - that took all day! I have to log in when the game fires up, but then as I'm playing single player, there's an option to play offline. So I don't think you have to be online to actually play, but you may have to sign in at the start.

I was initially interested in this, but after watching some gameplay on YouTube and, at least in the videos I saw, seeing how clunky and robotic the animations were, decided it wasn't worth it. Normally I'm a substance over fluff kind of gamer, but the animations looked horrible even by PS1 standards. Hell, I've played actual PS1 games with better, more natural and varied animations.

Anyone still playing this? I honestly forgot all about it until today when I stumbled onto a fairly active subreddit devoted to the game.
It seems to have been received well by players, but had mixed to average reviews from magazines.
I really only play single player games these days, is that viable? I'm also a console gamer, so it's PS4 for me. Does anyone else have it on PS4 and playing it solo?

I'm also a console gamer, so it's PS4 for me. Does anyone else have it on PS4 and playing it solo? I have it for Xbox One and have only played single player. I was super excited to get this game, and IMO it starts off great, the opening cut-scene with Conan is cool, the graphics are good, and when the game begins it does have a real intense "survival" feel to it. But after an hour of game play you are able to craft a safe structure and basic weapons, so the danger element is gone. The world feels "dead", and the AI is beyond awful, you can go into an enemy camp and attack a bandit, and the other bandits (who are 5 feet away!) will still sit by their fire until you enter their "reaction space". And the same townspeople, bandits and creatures re-spawn in the same exact places, and the only AI reaction is "attack" when you get close. There are games from a decade ago with better AI. To be fair, maybe my expectations were way off?, I was hoping for an open world, action adventure game (Skyrim, Dragon's Dogma, Red Dead Redemption, etc.) set in the Hyborian Age, and maybe playing Conan Exiles on-line is whole different experience?, but IMO as a single player game it's completely underwhelming and boring, there is no action, adventure, or story line. Exiles is essentially Minecraft, yet lacks everything that makes Minecraft fun. The 2007 Conan game for XBOX 360 is a masterpiece comparison, and even Skyrim SE with the Hyborian Age Mod is a better "Conan" game than Exiles.

I have it on PC, rather than console. It is intended to be played multi-player, but is still very playable solo. Lonewolf's criticisms are valid, but I think his expectations were off. It is not intended to be a game like Skyrim, but a survival game. It is based on combat and crafting. There are lists of achievements to accomplish, rather than quests and a main story. The further you travel from the starting area, the more difficult the enemies will become, generally. With out the threat of PVP combat from multi-player, there is a purge system in the game, where your base will get attacked by waves of enemies at certain time intervals.

But I recently came back to it. There have been some substantial updates put out over the last month or so. New dungeons, some new monsters and humans and the system has been tweaked again. So currently in the process of building a huge base in readiness to go look at the new dungeons.

I ordered Exiles for PS4 a few days ago. I probably won't be playing online, but I love a good base-building game. I'll give it a shot.

I never tried it on console, but the UI is fine on PC. Its a fun game, even in single player as a base building game, with the purge and all. The only drawback in single player is the poor AI. The problem is, since it is a building/survival game, all the NPC's and animals are also resources for the crafting part of the game, which leaves any interaction with them pretty shallow.
