Pretty cool perspective on this cover art. The angle of the sword blade looks a bit off to me, but otherwise I like this.

Great cover, but shouldn't he be bringing down the meteoric knife? Maybe next cover...

Why doesn't Khosatral Khel look like he's made of iron?

Conan didn't acquire the knife until right before the final fight with khostra. By the look of things 12's gonna be the last part of Iron Shadows

Serious, this cover is not good. it is just ok. I think we are now getting used to regular art. Dark Horse is making us numb to so so Conan material. No way this is a great cover. Far from it. It is just acceptable. Nothing more.

Why doesn't Khosatral Khel look like he's made of iron? Good question, my friend! I'm not sure about it, but in TDiI's first chapter REH says: "The fisherman did not wonder by what art the ancients had preserved the body in such a vivid likeness of life, which kept the muscular limbs full and unshrunken, the dark flesh vital." Maybe by "dark" he meant something between "tan" and "dusky", and that's why, IMHO, he was portrayed like that in the cover...

Here are the original and ever-confusing new release dates. For now, anyway, I think, possibly, I better finish this post real quick before they change the release dates again!
Conan the Slayer 7 Original release date: January 25 - new release date: March 22, 2017 Conan the Slayer 8 Original release date: February 22 - new release date: April 12, 2017
Conan the Slayer 9 Original release date: March 29 - new release date: April 26, 2017
Conan the Slayer 10 Original Release date: May 31 - new release date: June 14, 2017

Well 7 is pretty much set in stone. I think 8 may be released a little later in april. If it's pushed back again I don't think it will be by much. 9 I can see being released in May..

Yeah, I think it would actually make sense to proactively move #9 to May 10, just to put it back on some kind of schedule. They can't have Conan fall into a Daredevil/Planetary release schedule, it simply can't sustain an absence from the marketplace like that.

Dark Horse has really lowered their standards and it is now affecting their release dates.

That's the thing. Even with the beating it's still outselling a lot of other things. I think ALL of DH's brands have taken a beating to some degree (well anything that isn't alien or Joss Whedon)
