It seems that Perilous has a new web site... in the works. I've tried to sign up for the newsletter but nothing happens. Not very auspicious

I too just signed up to the Perilous Worlds website. There doesn't seem to be an autoresponder set up for it yet. I'm guessing the details may go onto a list and we'll get notified once the site goes back live again.

I find it surprising that a small operation like the REHFP are now getting their books available for everyone , while it appears the much larger Funcom/Cabinet/PW/Titan set up haven't.

I tried with Chrome and had a confirmation I was registred (not an email but a message after I clicked "sign me up"

Looking at the Titan website the team have not mentioned the new Conan pastiche books in their upcoming anticipated books for 2022. Is that cos the staff at editorial, design, sales, publicity & marketing at Titan are not really that interested in the new pastiche book? Or should we expect the first publication sometime in 2023 or an even later date? Link: titanbooks.com/blog/team-titans-anticipated-2022-titles/

It's entirely possible they're still being written. As much as I'd love for them to lead off with Hockings' books, and maybe the collected novellas from SSoC and CtB,it's entirely likely the editor of the line, Steve Saffel, has his own plans and his own stable of writers working on it. Probably from someone who has a big name in fantasy, if I had to guess (and this is all pure speculation -- whatever Titan's plans are, they're keeping them close to the vest).

Thanks Scott. Just thought I'd post an interview with Steve Saffel which supports your comments: literaryagentmarkgottlieb.com/blog/science-fiction-fantasy-editor-and-author-steve-saffelIn addition to his industry experience and background with the REH Del Rey volumes, he has a hands on approach: Imho that's a superior approach, which is increasingly rare in the industry these days, especially for a line editor. Nowadays a good literary agent seems more likely to take on that part of the role.

Steve's a good dude. I won't even start my offering to the pastiche line till later this year, and it's not Conan so it's probably not the highest priority. From following Steve on social media, I get the impression he already has certain authors in mind to write Conan -- and they're probably not anyone we'd think of off the bat, here on the forum. I wish they'd just start with what they have in hand, but unless something's changed that's probably not going to happen. C'est la vie . . .

So what happened to the Hocking, Oden and Stackpole books previously announced? I asked Steve Saffel on FB about the possibility of reprinting the old pastiches , this was his reply to that "For now we're focused on the new fiction. No telling what the future will bring." I've now asked him about the ones you mentioned , if he gets back to me I'll let you know.

I've now asked him about the ones you mentioned , if he gets back to me I'll let you know. Well an answer and not an answer. I guess Steve's hands are tied somewhat. Terry Allen: Steve , don't know if you saw Scott's question? Are the Hocking, Oden & Stackpole books still in the pipeline? Steve Saffel: For now we're focused on the new fiction in development. No telling what the future will bring. Terry Allen: Steve , so I guess they aren't part of the plan now ? Shame for John's book , I guess he's been let down again. Steve Saffel: Terry, don't read into what I've posted, and don't put words into my mouth. There are a lot of moving parts, and we're not going to comment on everything. Things will happen in their time. So to me "_new_ fiction in development" probably doesn't , at least for the moment , include those.
