I think this may have been pushed back January 2021 now. On the Glenat website, they changed the date from the 12th to the 18th but yeah, it may be pushed back a bit longer.

I think this may have been pushed back January 2021 now. No disservice to Glenalt's up and coming adaptation, but i thought DH's God In The Bowl was borderline flawless. Outstanding work from the team of Busiek and Nord. I tried to get a fan film of it off the ground way back in about 2013, effectively treating it like theatre, but complications with that incarnation of CPI put paid to that attempt.

Things have been pretty quiet from Glenat for a while. Xuthal of the Dusk (Christophie Bec & Stevan Subic) has a release date of 2nd June.
Apparently still upcoming:
The Hour of the Dragon (Julien Blondel and Valentin Secher) The Tower of the Elephant (Etienne Le Roux & Thierry Ségur) The Phoenix on the Sword (Guillaume Mautalent & Mac-Antoine Boidin) A witch shall be born (Jean-Luc Istin & Thimotée Montaigne)

Glenat is taking their time but the adaptations have been good for the most part so as long as they keep up the quality then it's all fine. Hopefully they can get these adaptations out before Ablaze catches up with the translations

So far the only one I've had a real reservations about is the Scarlet Citadel. Adaptation took a few too many wrong turns on that one I found.

I've been slowly reviewing these in order of release. QotBC Black Colossus Thanks for the reviews. Ablaze shoulda collected the adaptations in oversize hardcover like the Glenat editions. Hopefully, Ablaze will translate the Black Colossus adaptation soon. Keep em coming, looking forward to your Beyond the Black River & Frost-Giant's Daughter reviews.

I'm personally anticipating Rogues in the house being translated. The art looks great in that one.

I think the presentation of the Glenat adaptations are fantastic, you can tell they really put some effort into the overall design of the Conan series. It is a shame the same cannot be said for the hardbacks by Ablaze, with 2 adaptations in one regular size hardcover with cropped split screen images of both yarns on the front cover; looks ugly and cheap looking.

Yeah. I won't buy the Ablaze hardcovers for those exact reasons but I'm absolutely grateful for the floppies. The whole format of the hardbacks look rushed and effortless.

That looks like much better artwork than some of the previous releases

Looks great. The Glenat website has a release date of 24th November and Amazon UK has December 1st so hopefully it will be released this year. It's also listed at 88 pages on Glenat and 96 pages on Amazon, which is longer than previous releases have been, so hopefully the story will not be too condensed.
