Announcing the series to coincide with the comic release just seems like a ploy to sell more comics if coming from Malmberg.
It also just sounds like reasonable speculation.

It's just a delay tactic.

The latest word according to Midnight's Edge is that details about the Netflix TV show will be announced to coincide with the release of Titan comic book. So our 6 month waiting time now became a year and a half wait......

If it happens, I also think this is going to be a problem đ

If it happens, I also think this is going to be a problem đ That we're in a world where Gina Lollobrigida wasn't Belit in a 50s version of Conan...sad. The problem is the actors/actresses today complain about EVERYTHING! You watch some old episodes of Modern Family or Chuck, and the camera is ogling Sophia or Yvonne...the outcry that would happen today. In a Conan show, some actresses will have good roles, other will be there just to look pretty. It's just the story, that's how it goes. If they can't get past that, yeah there'll be problems. Thing is, apparently we're nowhere near that yet! There first has to BE a Conan show for the actresses to complain about what they have to wear ( or not wear).

The interesting thing about this thread is that you could stick this page on page 3, or future page 23 or 33 and it would still be at home.

Malmberg still seems to be hinting at the possibility of something happening on social media. Will not give details and seems to imply that the door is still open. Someone also asked about animation and he gave a seemingly positive/odd response as well.

Take what he says with a grain of salt. I'll believe it when I see a trailer with actual footage at this point.
But just look how all the streaming services are cutting back on producing original content. The chances any of them decide to devote the budget needed for a property like Conan is unlikely.
To the uninformed, and there are plenty, he's nothing more than a straight, white male and the poster child for toxic masculinity, and originated in the original Arnold film. Add to that, that he is from the pulp era, in the public domain in most of the world, and his last movie was a box office bomb.

To the uninformed, and there are plenty, he's nothing more than a straight, white male and the poster child for toxic masculinity, and originated in the original Arnold film. Frankly I'd be inclined to separate those two and say that it's most definitely an ideologically skewed minority who consider him "nothing more than a straight, white male and the poster child for toxic masculinity." Whereas, as you say, "To the uninformed, and there are plenty, he ... originated in the original Arnold film." I'd be inclined to further refine that by saying that (1) the majority would recognise him from the films, (2) a large number from the comics, followed by (3) those who know him from the games, chiefly Age of Conan and Conan Exiles and (4) those who know him primarily from the books. If you add all of those together that's quite a large number, definitely enough to categorise Conan as an A list character in pop culture, albeit a somewhat neglected one drifting towards the bottom of the A list. Just my 2c.

Oh believe me, I know. But some of his responses to people asking about the possibility of upcoming shows have been interesting. Someone from the comics industry asked him about it, and he gave an emoji indicating his lips are sealed/can't say anything.

I really wanna believe there's something happening, but I feel his lips are sealed cos he's got nothing to say. By Crom & Tengri of the Everlasting Sky, I hope I'm wrong.

Some weird DLC that will be/is (?) available for the Conan Exiles MMORPG game. Look terribly silly to me. Did not pay it much mind. Was going to post: "Silly and Conan do not go together." But refrained . . .

'What is your next film âShe Is Conanâ about? This began as a stage play, which Philippe Quesne invited me to put together at the Theatre Nanterre-Amandiers. I was initially repelled by the universe of Conan, but I found something that worked for me, which coincided with my research into demoniac characters. We couldnât open the play because of the COVID restrictions and so we filmed the performance, and it then evolved into a feature film â with a new shoot â and a virtual reality project. I was also inspired by Max Ophulsâ âLola Montesâ about the character who tells her story, from a circus that became her damnation. And also the dead man who tells his life story at the beginning of âSunset Boulevard.â My film is the complete opposite to John Miliusâ âConan.â Itâs not a violent or harsh tale. It explores the different stages of the life of Conan â from the Sumerian era to the near future. Itâs more dreamlike, again a bit like Cocteau or Paul Schraederâs âMishima.â Each stage of the characterâs life is shown with a different aesthetic and rhythm, but there is an underlying unity and evolution of the character.' What are your expectations from the commercial release of âAfter Blueâ? I view each film as a prototype and try to do something different. Some critics were looking for something very similar to âThe Wild Boys,â but it isnât. It has a very different feel and rhythm. It has a lot of long takes and is more melancholic and lyrical. I explore color more intensely. By contrast, âConanâ will be entirely black and white. Weâll see how spectators react!' variety.com/2022/film/global/bertrand-mandico-after-blue-she-is-conan-1235153242/?sub_action=logged_inArt house stuff.
