I haven't read this yet but I did flip through it and am really impressed by the artwork. Luke Ross did a good job on the sequel to Night of the Dark God in Savage Sword of Conan last year, so I can see why they wanted him back on the character....but I'm not sure why they chose the modern setting... Put him on a bloody Hyborian Age mini or ongoing series instead.

I didn't bother looking at any of the previews for this, so when I bought it and sat down to read it, I was surprised to find that it takes place in Vegas. I was a bit disappointed, but the story isn't bad so far. I tend to look at all these stories with Conan in modern times as 'What If' scenarios.

Luke Ross is so wasted on this concept, but this doesn't seem too bad, for what it is.

Issue #1 is fun. In Issue #2 the plot doesn't go anywhere interesting and feels unfocused by the end. The art is the main redeeming factor. Conan himself is acceptable written here. Not worth picking up in my opinion, even tho this is an okay comic.

Also: given that he's now spent a good amount of time in our world... why isn't Conan wearing pants? I figure by now he'd be dressed like a biker with a sword. Hell Red Sonja pulled off the look when she hit the 21st century.

The title alone should turn people off. HE seems like one of those misogynistic racist jackasses who think that having ANY attempt at diversity beyond the token black or exotic badass is somehow "pandering".

Maybe but it's still a horrible video to watch. As a rule people bitching about "SJW's" turn out to be absolute monsters

Didn’t find anything really wrong with it, someone with a point of view. I didn’t hear anything outwardly insulting to anyone except the writer and those were about the characterization of Conan.
I’ve found the book lackluster in general, certainly among the weakest of Marvel’s stable so far and unfortunately that’s saying something and it’s not good.
