Please keep political views out of the forum. It’s near unreadable. I like to keep in touch with Howard related news and this left vs right stuff is just noise. Thank you for your understanding. No one said 'right', more 'normal verse left' I guess "right" is "normal" for some. I guess back in the old days they had several categories for "not normal." In any case, all right fears about any potential Conan series have yet to be manifest, and, judging from shows like Reacher, etc, are not likely to be.

Right now we’re mostly under the delusion there’s going to be a Conan show :-(
I’m back :-)

Yeah, well, wouldn't we all like to see that final product finally realised on the small (and the big ) screen. What a wonderful thing that would be, and then we can scrutinise all we like. Now that would make for some interesting discourse.

Without getting into legalities, can we see about sounding Fred out by Howard Days how confident he is the show will go forward? This is not a promising development.

By that time, perhaps the deal will expire? This September will be two years since it was announced. Hopefully they weren't foolish enough to sign a long term deal.

Netflix has now cancelled a number of shows and even announced they're closing their animation studio. (wasn't there talk of an animated movie to go along with the series?)
It looks like they might be more careful with their investments going forward an let's face it, Conan just isn't the valuable property that we all want it to be. There is a good chance we'll never see anything from netflix. I'll stay positive for now, but its not looking good.

Netflix just had the biggend let down in his history, maybe this could either cause them to risk into doing greater and better series or dropping them, but its just a theory of my mind.

Last time, it was two years after Amazon announced they were passing. Hopefully they put a trigger in that if nothing is announced, the option expires. That’s what happened with the Lensmen when I was looking to do something with my scripts. Someone had optioned it in the early 2000s, then it expired. Then Ron Howard and Brian Glazer optioned it for JMS to do the script for, then that lapsed as well. But it’s sure looking like its best shot was Amazon. Thanks so much JS >:-(

Damn, would have loved to see Lensmen get the big screen treatment. [/quote] Yeah if it wasn’t going to be mine, at least let a fellow guy from Jersey do it. He had a bunch of references in Babylon 5 my dad picked out after reading my scripts.

It could be a good thing, Fredrik Malmberg and his team need to work harder convincing Netflix that a Conan series is worth their time. If it don't work out with Netflix just keep going until we get a decent movie or series on screen.
I dunno how the likes of Amazon, Disney+ and Netflix expect the average family to pay for this stuff under current conditions that will probably get worse in the near future.

The ancient Greek concept of hell was a favourite of mine, hells were tailor made to suit individuals depending on the transgressions they made when alive.
We actually died, just not properly aware of it, and have been sentenced for eternity to talk about a Conan TV series that will be teased at times, but never made.
Development HELL indeed.

To be fair, do people really need all those streaming services? The average person apparently has 6 streaming services these days which means some have more than that.
If the economy really does get as bad as some are predicting then we will probably see the industry consolidate. Unless they're willing to suffer and tough it out until things get better.
