Imagine things getting so bad that Amazon, Disney+ and Netflix collapse. The shock and horror. How will western civilisation survive without streaming services constantly numbing our brains with turd.

After the Wheel of Time swing and a miss and the upcoming Rings of Power fiasco I wouldn't be surprised but Prime is tied in to free shipping so it basically pays for itself depending on how much your household orders from Big Brother. Bezos said he wanted his own Game of Thrones for Prime... he's yet to get it. Should have greenlit the Conan pilot script that received universal praise instead of Wheel of Time. Disney+ has a lot going for it via their IP and especially the back catalog. But they need to focus on popular characters. |

45 pages so far, and still in Development HELL - it'll be interesting to see if we beat the 63 pages for the Amazon Conan series thread before Netflix cancels this one.

Given what's going on now, do we WANT it? I certainly don't at this point given the current landscape.
Best case scenario it goes back to Amazon where they give it the Reacher treatment and learn from their woke mistakes via Wheel of Time and LotR Rings of Power.

Best case scenario it goes back to Amazon where they give it the Reacher treatment and learn from their woke mistakes via Wheel of Time and LotR Rings of Power. I think they cannot afford to ignore REH's Conan. Amazon's Wheel of Time & Rings of Power look almost identical and unnecessary. The Witcher is doing fine at Netflix, but it is no Conan. |

LOTR and WoT would have to collapse pretty hard for them to reconsider if Netflix decides not to go forward. WoT was successful enough-ish but it certainly didn't leave a long lasting impression (I'd say the same about Apple's Foundation, for something that was anticipated since the late 50s, it certainly came and went with nary a ripple). |

It could be a good thing, Fredrik Malmberg and his team need to work harder convincing Netflix that a Conan series is worth their time. If it don't work out with Netflix just keep going until we get a decent movie or series on screen. I dunno how the likes of Amazon, Disney+ and Netflix expect the average family to pay for this stuff under current conditions that will probably get worse in the near future. I've been on these boards for for 5+ years and between the movie/tv series/book threads, the common theme seems to be that Malmberg is incapable of getting anything done? IMO, Instead of trying to get a big payday from Netflix or Amazon (guaranteed to come with heavy (#woke) studio interference), he needs get a proper/interested directer (like Neil Marshall) who could make true to the source material, Conan movie, on a modest budget. |

It's like everything else in our modern #bizarro world, it's a select few who are dictating what is offensive, acceptable, etc. etc., under a feigned aspiration for "tolerance", but then have no qualms labeling or attacking anyone who dares to disagree. |

Reacher sleeps with one young lady during the first season. I'm sure Conan would rack up a higher count than that depending on how they would approach each season (serialized story throughout or standalone episodes). Between Reacher and Bosch I think Amazon has it in them for a quality Conan series, but I can't say the same for Netflix. Even the Witcher, which I enjoy has been screwed with and changed from the source material. I don't think Netflix is the answer. |
