Perhaps a Conan film or tv series will make an appearance after the collapse of this civilisation and the rise of another undreamed of age when men have forgotten 'Woke' again.

Netflix just started to talk about their Narnia series a couple of days ago after many years of nothing, maybe Conan could be the next...

Four years?!? Oh boy, Fred may have been off by a little bit in terms of when a decision will be made. At least Narnia has names linked to it. So there’s one thing Netflix hasn’t outright cancelled yet.

Given the positive response to the Witcher spinoff, I think Netflix will announce a Belit and Valeria series before they announce a Conan series.

Well we are nothing if not consistent if we have such a similar number of posts to this thread at the end of another two year option.
Hollywood and the movie industry in general is a difficult arena at least in part due to the amount of money involved and the sheer number of people who need to co-ordinate to get a project done, all this in addition to the ideological barriers faced by creatives in the current climate. Dwayne Johnson and his ex-wife (who is Henry Cavill's agent) fought for six years to get Henry Cavill back into the role of Superman, and only after a change in leadership at WB did the stars finally align to bring it about. A six year fight to get an actor who was born to play Superman and who loves the role shows how skewed things had become in the industry. If WB play their cards right with the script and characterisation the next Superman movie with Cavill could be a 2 billion plus blockbuster.
At Amazon with Conan the stars were beginning to align when a change of leadership had the opposite effect. We can see by the success of House of the Dragon that Ryan Condal had the creative talent to make a Conan series work, but I seriously doubt that he'd have had the right team to have made Conan work at Amazon. Over the years I have encountered inummerable comments expressing regret that the Conan project did not move forward under Ryan Condal at Amazon with several saying that it could have been Amazon's Game of Thrones. HBO (under Zaslav) would be a much better environment for a Conan project than Netflix imho so I wouldn't be too concerned if NF let the option lapse at the end of the year.
There are signs now that the trend of execs producing content driven by one specific ideology is waning. Not even ESG backed mega investment money can prop up an industry producing movies and TV series that ever increasing numbers of people just don't want to see. Content made essentially for a small fringe of elitists that don't even want to see it themselves. Disney have a very high ESG rating, and they are in big trouble, having to charge huge prices at their Disneyland venues, and sell off some others to make up the shortfall. I doubt if they'll go down anytime soon, but they are certainly on the wane, but in denial (if the recent interview with Bob Chapek is anything to go by). WB under Zaslav look like they are pulling out of the nosedive, and on the rise. I believe Marvel's early success was due to the creative decisions and design goals of the leadership before Kevin Feige took over. They were the ones who mapped out the strategy, overall arc and phases up to Endgame for which Feige got most of the credit.
What Fred is doing with Titan books and the new Conan comic shows that he listens to fans and is both earnest and serious about getting the right people involved. Given another year (or perhaps two) for the dust to settle and things to shape up and I think he'll find more people stepping forward with interest in a Conan project and have an easier job getting the right people involved and the financial backing.
Just my 2c.

Given the positive response to the Witcher spinoff, I think Netflix will announce a Belit and Valeria series before they announce a Conan series. Positive? I thought the trailer was getting ratioed on youtube*. But they'd be more likely to announce a Conan series that was actually more about Belit and Valeria than Conan, where he took a back seat in his own show. *edit 38k likes 109k dislikes.

Just my 2c. Yeah, I agree Fredrik is listening. He did not have to complete the omnibus line with Cory Sedlmeier at the helm, he could've dropped it all and started a new reprint program at Titan, but he did not. Getting our Cimmerian on the screen is a tough nut to crack, and Fredrik has resisted accepting some kinda deal that'd be contrary to the writings of REH, to date. Hopefully, one day a studio will be willing to present a true rendition of the Cimmerian on screen and all the other characters from the REH Universe.

And maybe that is the problem? Everyone (execs) want an Ahnold-style Conan?

Is there some sort of sneaky way to still see dislikes? It was a valuable tool to see what the validity of a post/video was and they went and stupidly removed it.

They have disabled 'dislikes' because everytime they pushed some BS woke or globalist agenda by MSM on youtube by the less than 1% , the 99% voted it down. The only thing is that they have done that across the board for everything, hence we can't use the function to gage the general public sentiment on discussions as innocent as production and casting issues around a tv series or film.

Yes there is, it's a plugin that makes the dislike visible. Should be very easy to find, as it is very popular.

As mindboggled mentions above you should hopefully be able to find an extension or plugin for your browser or app to re-enable the ability to view youtube dislikes.

This all began with Captain Marvel getting ratioed on Rotten Tomatoes. Some suspected at the time that Disney/Marvel offered them an incentive for nixing the function. Edit - Blood origins is now on 39k likes and 121k dislikes.
