I'd love such a series but apparently Dark Horse's one didn't work out that well in the end? Yeah, a DH anthology format would not make much of an impact. Ideally, a quarterly with a painted cover, even if it is digitally painted, would be great. It would help if they employed artists that look good in Black and White. A new SSOC should have a Conan story of around 60 pages, they can add pin-ups if they like, I guess. But no back-up stories with other REH characters. Titan should keep well away from Dark Agnes, Belit and Valeria - don't need to make the same mistakes Marvel did. Right now it is even difficult selling Conan comics, let alone an REH anthology. They need to establish sales of the Conan books first, and then expand the range, hopefully, we'll get a good Solomon Kane Series, eventually.

HUGE mistake. It's Conan or nothing at this point. A black and white REH anthology would be dead on arrival.
A black and white Conan magazine would be pretty niche, but an REH mag would be even more so.
Worry about putting out a quality Conan comics first. Prove you can do that.

Yeah, unfortunately that would be making the same mistake Marvel did coming out at once with all kinds of product that the audience didn’t end up wanting. Get ONE book to sell well, then go from there.

It hurts but you are right, its Conan or nothing, hopefully Jim Zub will have better chances now that he is starting from the ground up.

Unfortunately it looks like Fredrik Malmberg and Titan may end up making the same mistakes as Marvel with too many books early on. Have a butcher's at Fredrik's recent tweet below:
It’s everything from continuing the great archival program that Marvel started to several new mini-series, oneshots, and of course the workhorse, the monthly Conan the Barbarian. And how to make our (together with @comicstitan of course) program unique. And secret super 2nd title
The sales were not that good for the minis at Marvel, they are unlikely to sell better at Titan.
The orders for Conan the Barbarian will probably average out at around 15 to 20 thousand copies for Conan the Barbarian, and that's good for a Titan book. The majority of retailers will be even more reluctant to order a REH/Conan title not published by Marvel. I expect it'll be the reverse with the Forbidden Planet stores in the UK, they are owned by Titan Entertainment and will try to push the book.

I picked up a couple of really good deals on Conan omnibuses there recently.

Just checked out the Titan solicitations for December. Just like Marvel they usually have solicitations for graphic novels a little earlier. It looks like if Titan decide to release an omnibus in May 2023 we should get a solicitation in the next couple of months, sometime in November, I guess. Cool thanks. Worth noting at the bottom of the report - also as we suspected from Malmberg's earlier tweets - they're continuing the Savage Sword omnibus series from number 9 🤗. Hopefully they'll reprint the first one too!

Thanks Jason. Looking good if you're a Buscema fan with De La Torre on Conan and Benito Gallego on the new Tarzan comic. Good that they intend to continue and hopefully complete the SSoC omnis.

I can't wait to see Roberto's Conan but it's total nonsense to color this beautiful old school art style. Just imagine how magnificent his drawings would have looked in the old SSoC magazines.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Why color such a beautiful black and white drawing? De La torre's art asks for black and white format. Otherwise it is a crime. Man, these editors make such questionable decisions... I don't understand, really. Make it in black and white, magazine format and it is a success. But other than that we are very lucky to have Jim and De La Torre on the book. Titan couldn't have chosen better.
