Experience Conan at his most visceral in the original epic comic magazine The Savage Sword of Conan! The dark and gritty tales within are perfect for Conan fans looking for that extra bit of bloody violence! This DM edition features exclusive cover art by Jim Starlin.
SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN, the cornerstone of Marvel's black-and-white magazine line, offered up stories of fiction's most famous barbarian unencumbered by the Comics Code! With the rules of civilized publishing cast off, SAVAGE SWORD presented ferocious, untamed tales the likes of which Conan himself would approve. Writer Roy Thomas and artistic greats including John Buscema and Neal Adams took full advantage - and the results were a sensation! Multi-part sagas like "The People of the Black Circle" luxuriate in extended tellings, while Buscema's take on "The Tower of the Elephant" explores the nuance of an all-time Robert E. Howard classic. And it's topped off with MARVEL COMICS SUPER SPECIAL #2, a tale of vengeance lavished with fully painted colors! Collecting SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN (1974) #13-28 and MARVEL COMICS SUPER SPECIAL #2. This DM edition features exclusive cover art by Jim Starlin.

As suspected this 1st volume will not include the Fury of the Femizons, Black Brother or the Ka-Zar (around 32 pages in the Marvel omni) stories.
All the ads, letter pages and articles will be reprinted in these Titan Omnis. At least, it looks that way.

I'm guessing they'll eventually have to go back and reprint the Kull and Solomon Kane omnis as well. This would've been an opportunity to add those stories back in but that'd involve a LOT of work so I get just finishing the line as it is.

I still don't get it why Marvel decided to print in Vol. 1 so many stories that have nothing to do with Conan. It would have been better to print Conan stories only. In this regard, Titan is doing the right thing.

Has anyone news about Vol. 9 of Savage Sword of Conan omnibus? I dunno, but in the extract below Cory Sedlmeier, the editor of the Marvel and future Titan omnibus editions explains a little bit of what to expect in the near future: First, we'll be going back to press on some of the early Conan the Barbarian and Savage Sword volumes. Then, we'll start releasing new volumes, picking up right where I left off with Savage Sword of Conan Vol. 9, Conan the Barbarian Vol. 11 and Conan the King Vol. 2.
I have plans set for all of the original 1970-2000 Conan comics locked. Our release schedule will alternate between volumes of the black-and-white magazine material (Savage Sword, Conan the Savage, plus the color graphic novels) and the color comics material (Conan the King, Conan the Adventurer, Conan [1995] and the late-'90s miniseries).

Nice, I just came on here to talk about the covers. Finally got round to watching the Omar vid after seeing it posted last week. Cool to see SSoC getting two original covers rather than the modern ones. I found most of the modern ones pretty weak compared to the others. I have SSoC 2 already, but with the modern cover I'm not overly fond (but was about half the price of the DM variant!). Will deffo be picking up SSoC 1, likely the second cover.

A lot of the modern covers, to me, looked like silly romance novel covers!

Conan modern covers for Savage Sword omnis were usually very ugly. The only one I really liked was the first one, which had a classic feeling and referred to Red Nails. Other than that one, the subsequent covers were not acceptable at all. Covers for # 2 and 3, for example, were awful. It surprises me that Marvel approved of such material. I was lucky enought I could get a hold on classic covers for all numbers from 1 to 8 because I cannot stand looking at some of those modern ones. Titan is going the right rout towards classic covers that most fans like. Good choice.
