Just seen posted on the Masterworks Board "According to the official Titan website, the Conan Omnibuses have been pushed back yet again. SSoC Omnibus volume 9 is now scheduled to drop on 26th November." So much for the plan to FINALLY get the Omnibus books printed & to stores. I see what they were quoting at titan-comics.com/graphic-novels/?date=20241210061322SEVEN different Omnibus collection NOW listed as coming out November ... & those dates CAN'T be TRUSTED either, due being too close together & conflicting with other Omnibuses that NEED to come out before them! Ugh, what a mess! I think I have mentioned it before, Titan should have done their own thing with something like the Vampirella, Eerie & Creepy Archives in the original magazine size with about 8/10 issues per volume and the same again with the CtB volumes, around 500 pages per volume (in the original size). Titan have to date, established their own distinctive voice with the new comics and they have to establish the same with their reprint program. Just reprint the Roy Thomas Run (make it evergreen), it is time the comics caught up with what has happened with the REH prose, now we can pick up most of the original yarns by REH published by Del Ray and the REH foundation. For now, the comics by Roy Thomas need the same respect, repackage and present them the Titan way, forget Marvel, and after a little while they can complete the lesser volumes of SSoC, CtB & King Conan.

Picked up the 1st volume today at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore. I got the Vallejo cover, the binding is pretty good so far with stitch binding and the paper is a little bit on the thin side much like the later Conan Marvel omnis. The pages are not as glossy as the Marvel reprints or it seems that way to me for now. The inside cover has a two page spread on grey paper from the Curse of the Undead Man adaptation found in SSOC 1 (look below).

Near Mint Condition has finally done his SSOC Omnibus 1 overview video, which is different in that Omar compares the new Titan edition with the out of print Marvel version, at Thanks Salant, nice to see the side by side comparison - I got rid of my Conan Marvel omnis awhile back. I prefer the Titan omni, it is more Conan-centric. Without all the stories like Fury of the Femizons, Man/Thing, Black Brother, Ka-Zar, Dark Tomorrow, Crusader yarns and all the other stuff not Conan/Hyborian Age related. The binding is a lot better, not as tight as the Marvel omnis, with less gutter loss. Omar did not mention it in the video, from what I remember the paper seems to be less glossy in the Titan edition, making it a little easier to read - it was difficult to appreciate the art because of the glare in the Marvel omnis, the titan volume does not have the same problem.

Will Titan release # 6-8 of Savage Sword of Conan omnibus? I am asking because on Amazon # 5 is already listed for pre-orders. I also wonder if Titan will release the whole run of Conan the Barbarian again, right after Marvel doing just the same.
