I'm a huge fan of TNG, grew up on it. I'm enjoying Picard Season 3 a great deal, this is the send off we always wanted for the cast.
As for Picard the series, I would recommend watching Season 1, watch the first two episodes and last two episodes of Season 2, then wait and watch Season 3 all in one sitting. Season 1 was good, Season 2 is the worst Star Trek I've ever seen, and Season 3 has been awesome.
I enjoyed Star Trek: Discovery, it was actually pretty close to classic Trek and TNG in many ways. I hear there's going to be one more season and they are being allowed to wrap it up, which is nice.
Lately, I've been watching DS9 and am enjoying it.

I need to catch up on the animated series again. I started watching it on Heroes and Icons on Sunday nights, then Paramount+ took it. My sister recently got it so I need to find the time. It’s not quite season 4 but it’s a reasonable facsimile.

The sort of show that the return of Star Trek post Enterprise should have been from the get go imho. I will never watch ST Discovery, Picard seasons 1 and 2 or Strange New Worlds as they were panned by smart genre savvy reviewers whose opinion I trust. Those same reviewers have highly praised Picard season 3 and what I've seen of it so far has reinforced my faith in their judgement. Won't watch any new show these days unless it is first screened by reviewers whose taste in entertainment I trust. Such are the times...

My Milwaukee natives at Red Letter Media are enjoying Picard Season 3 after taking massive dumps all over the first two seasons.

The first season of Picard isn't bad when binged but the second season is dog shit. That has to be the worst Star Trek in existence.
It was a bad year for Star Trek last year. The most cringe moment was the Stacy Abrams cameo in Star Trek Discovery as the President of the Federation.
But Picard Season 3 is moving the franchise in the right direction again.

Maybe I'll try it once it's all done. Just have to find the time to work it into the line up.

I saw Season 1 and wasn’t overly thrilled. A few good episodes with a lot of meandering. Some fantastic character scenes and interactions in season 3, great plot that keeps the stakes rising and the mystery unfolding. Eps 1-4 are almost like a self contained movie split into four parts. Most of the original ensemble cast are back and completely in character again. If you ever enjoyed TNG there's a good chance you'll be glad you checked out Season 3 of Picard if you ever decide to give it a shot.

Can Picard really get_any_better? Great episode No, I don't think so, it's everything Picard Seasons 1 and 2 should have been. Alas, it's great seeing the whole gang (almost) back together. It's just said that we only have a few more episodes to go. I hope they use this as a jumping off point. I have seen some people throwing around Star Trek: Legacy as an idea for a new streaming series. They certainly have set up the Next Next Generation if they want to go that way. For a while I was thinking Riker was a Changeling himself because of the way he touched the Changeling Ensign's pip and the way he yelled at Picard but I don't think so anymore.
