It's actually addressed in the latest Strange New Worlds episode (2x3), and they handle it very well. Given all the attempts, some successful, even, at timeline manipulation, there are some major events that continue to persist and re-insert themselves. They even name dropped the Temporal War from Enterprise. The character from 2x3 indicates she's been waiting since the mid 1990's to accomplish her mission.
By the way, the actress that plans Lt. Noonien Singh did a bang up job last night, should probably be nominated for a Saturn award for this episode.

She is one of my favorites on the show. Isn't there a novel about the Eugenics War? How about an audiobook version of that?

Trying to watch the Star Trek Discovery episodes with Captain Pike.
I don't throw around the Mary Sue label alot, but this Michael Burnham character fits the bill.
As bad or worse than early Wesley Crusher.

Trying to watch the Star Trek Discovery episodes with Captain Pike. I don't throw around the Mary Sue label alot, but this Michael Burnham character fits the bill. As bad or worse than early Wesley Crusher. Yeah, but it's fairly watchable. Worth it for the Pike and Spock scenes. They left Pike in a stronger place than when we see him in Strange New Worlds. He was at peace in Discovery. Then in Strange New Worlds he has a form of depression or ptsd, living in the mountains, and sleeping with the younger captain. It's almost like they couldn't come up with a suitable arc for him in season 1. It was worth it though, we got the season 1 finale out of it which was good.

In the Star Trek universe, I wonder if there's sword and sorcery featuring pre-Surak Vulcans.

The first picture is kind of evocative of Black Adam. The glimpses of early Vulcan that we've seen across Star Trek make it seem almost Mars like in terrain. I could almost imagine a sword and planet like series about early Vulcan. It wouldn't surprise me to see Savage Vulcans running off Alien Invaders to their world with swords and devious strategies. Perhaps throw in some energy weapons and sun lenses for good measure. The absence of such weapons in the current day could be explained by the Vulcans outlawing such barbaric devices in a later, more logical age.

Hopefully someone at paramount see this thread, I would watch the hell out of a Vulcan Barbarian series.

Long time since we had a post on Star Trek. Watch: William Shatner’s Captain Kirk Returns In “Unification” Short Film From Roddenberry Archive Here's the short 8 min movie:

Right, not bad, not bad at all. They really did something with that.
Somehow Kirk and Spock were able to pull off a strong friendship and bond, only on Star Trek.

Not sure about that, but there was this, the story, connects to an episode of the original series, 'All our yesterdays', that time Spock travelled to an ice age era on Sarpeidon, apparently his dalliance with Zarabeth resulted in a son by the name of Zar. Cover of the second instalment, remember coming across this in a book store decades ago.

The old series was always my favourite of the lot.
Scratch the surface of a logical Vulcan and you find a barbarian underneath.

The war like Klingons always considered Kirk a 'renegade', but perhaps they were not altogether wrong, Kirk had broken the Prime Directive a number of times. The destruction of the computer Landru which controlled a civilisation case in point. An argument can be made that it was an artificial intelligence that stifled the growth of a living culture and so had to be removed from the equation, but we have no way of knowing the consequences that those actions will have on the inhabitants. Not that it bothers Kirk, note his departing quip “Well, you’re on your own now. I hope you’re up to it.” From the "The Return of the Archons"

Best ST I’ve seen in quite a while. That seems to be about the top opinion among fans of the OS from what I've been reading.
