Does anyone think that with Ablaze publishing some of the REH stories based off public domain laws, possibly opens up the chances for movies based on the same stories being made? Have Conan Properties allowed them to do this, or is it more a case of Conan Properties not wanting to take a chance in court and the ruling going against their favor in terms of public domain? Check this section for the Iron Shadows thread. Some filmmakers tried to do just that, they got shut down. They thought the legal wrangling had been all sorted out, but that was not the case. There's more to the story than just that, but it's a big part of it.

What d'ya reckon? Arnie returns as King Conan. A studio is finally willing to take on Ryan Condal's Conan. A new board game or video game. Conan officially joins the Avengers in the comic book world. Conan joins the MCU: His first appearance will be in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Or none of the above

I stand by my 2019 prediction:

Through the mists of the Black Lotus I walk the astral path that overlooks many worlds and many possibilities--- I see, I see,--
Conan the Barbarian enters the MCU in a standalone feature in 2021, Vin Diesel stars as Conan wearing a very well crafted wig. Vin returns to the screen as Conan in a 2023 Avengers movie, early in the film his hair blasted off by Kang the Conqueror which results in Diesel going to his natural bald state and ushering in the age of bald Conan.
The mists fade, I plummet from the astral realms back to the world of solid matter where time runs in a single direction.

I'm all excited now, can't wait to see this rendition of the Cimmerian on the big screen.

Does using a Guardians clip provide a hint as to who may or may not be doing something? We know what we WANT the answer to be, but the realist in all of us isn’t getting worked up yet.

So Disney convince Malmberg to drop the R rated 'barrier' to either big or small screen Conan and he agree's to a Conan tv series for Disney+. Or Amazon agree's to a Conan tv series to be made on a budget half the size of The Witcher.
Or more plausible; Funcom get's their house in order and greenlights a single-player campaign game for Conan.
We await the news announcement with simmering anticipation...

You would need a major studio with an army of lawyers with an interest in the character. I'm not sure if one is out there. Very skeptical of Malberg's hype at this point.

The other issue is this damn pandemic. It's been going on since March and there's no end in sight. Everyone is being more selective about what they consume and produce. We're in a bottleneck and it's going to make it really tough for a Conan project to get made, let alone an Arnie 80s sequel. Jason, the number of doors open to a Conan television production are diminishing in number, based on the reasons i mentioned before; I'm really not sure what avenues are open to pitching a new Conan series. The fact that Malmberg in the last 2 years (shall we say One year based on the Rights issue?) doesn't have a 3rd party interested in some form is not good news; like, Amazon wanted to make a Conan series, from a named screenwriter. What, no takers? As for an Arnold-Conan project, i think that we as fans need to realise that such a thing is as dead as it gets. Arnold talks it up a great deal, because Conan is one of his most iconic roles. It's just not going to happen, be it an original work or based on some other property. What other options do you all think are viable to get our favourite barbarian back on the screen? I was under the understanding that the Amazon Conan project was killed because of the new management team. Rarely do new teams like to carry on with the old teams' ideas at studios, production houses, and, I guess, streaming companies. A pilot script was completed, from what I read, and it was described as being amazing. But, what if it is a hit? That's a plus for the old team, not the new. So, you're the new team...why would you do that?

So, you're the new team...why would you do that? Boot, like i said a while back, Amazon don't want competing franchises. They are spending the most money ever for original content on the new Tolkien Second Age series, and know it will be a runaway hit if they get it right; why dilute interest in that with a secondary fantasy series on Prime? That was why i said that options for Conan are rapidly running out. No Prime, no Netflix, and i'd assume HBO Max (which isn't in every territory) haven't been pitched.

A follow up video after the Fredrik Malmberg interview by Midnight's Edge.
The Rise and Fall of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Legend of Conan
Description: In October of 2012, Deadline Hollywood broke the scoop that Arnold Schwarzenegger would return to star in the long awaited King Conan movie from Universal Pictures, titled “Legend of Conan”. That movie never happened.
While Arnold Schwarzenegger remains keen on wanting to return to Conan, Universal has in the intervening years relinquished the Conan movie rights, forever ending any chance that particular movie had of getting made.
In an exclusive long form interview with Midnight’s Edge; Fredrik Malmberg, the Keeper of the Conan Legend and would be producer on that movie, gave a look into what transpired behind the scenes of “Legend of Conan”, who was in consideration to direct, why the movie never happened, and if Arnold Schwarzenegger could still return to what is perhaps his most iconic role.
