Conan is without a doubt one of the coolest characters to have graced the pages of comics...I hope to do no less but expand upon what Big John Buscema could not do because of deadline restrictions. Off the cuff observation...Grindberg's signature on the top of the second page is really reminiscent of the style of Frazetta's signature-just the angles and stroke style of the signature and the "feel" of it reminds of the way Frank signed his works.

Given the chance Tom Grindberg would knock Death Dealer and John Carter out of the park too, in addition to Tarzan and Conan.

Makes me wish Dark Horse also had the Red Sonja licence, so Grindberg & writer Roy Thomas could include her in their upcoming new CONAN project! I can't wait for DH to make their official announcement for it & maybe show off some pages.

I can't wait for DH to make their official announcement for it & maybe show off some pages. Same here, I have to admit I'm excited about this series. I recently read the DH 'God in the Bowl' adaptation in the Conan omnibus with Janissa the Widowmaker. I was thinking it's a shame that DH did not acquire the rights to Red Sonja, with a reworked origin. Or better still, a true adaption of 'Shadow of the Vulture'. Roy Thomas and Rafael Kayanan were working on an adaptation in the 90's. |

Tom Grinberg was asked recently about the upcoming DHC Conan project:
It has been delayed. Roy is coming up with another storyline at the moment and we hope this will be finalized and approved by Conan Properties. Its agonizingly slow waiting for all this to happen, but it's a go definitely. Just a minor setback after waiting such a long time only to find out Conan properties pulled the plug. We'll get this thing going soon I bet!
From what I gather, Roy is coming up with an original storyline, not an REH Conan adaptation as was once thought. More news as it breaks.
